Doco
The boat has a newly fitted 4000w inverter, which has allowed us to install 220v strip multi led lighting on both sides of the state room.We have dual systems 220v and 12v. Power consumption is nothing compared to the old lighting
LondonRascal
4000w inverter! The LED lighting though surly is low voltage DC? So you might want to bypass the ‘power brick’ knocking the 240v down to power them and run directly off the 12v supply? Be even more efficient that way. Doco
Thanks Robin for sure that's right we are on the same page. We are testing at present without the brick,in our new fitted galley kitchen along the skirting board with a pr. regards David

MBA Marine
how much is that tongue & groove per pack? I used a lot on a non boat project, I dont have the invoices handy but the cheapest supplier I found locally was RS Timber next to North walsham train station.
Oddfellow
LEDs like a stable 12v power source which the power "brick" will provide. Running them from the 12v system on the boat will rarely give 12v but 14v or more at charge. You SHOULD use a DC to DC power converter to smooth and stabilise the supply to the LEDs if they require it.
