What's James' commission like, Jonny???
-
Yes it will be affording to pay for them !!
Especially if you go out in the Summer Hols!
I'm surprised about Beccles Old bridge which surely has as much clearance as Wroxham at LW?
-
Neil, you should really learn to recognise the use of such devices as, puns, irony, litotes, hyperbole and the like.
Nor to forget that:
"a slight inclination of the cranium is as adequate as a spasmodic movement of one optic to an equine quadruped devoid of its visionary capacity"

And I thought the answer was going to be something like .. . Take it out, tie a bit of rope around it and use it as a mud weight!
Doh .
I thought that about our Nanni 50 when she stopped approaching St Olaves bridge this morning.......... story to follow tomorrow when I recover from it all...

Of course, David. I checked ours again this morning and they are actually water traps and as such are below the tank level. They then go on to the diesel heater and the engines, all of which have their own filters.
-
Trev, Hi
Regardless of the number of cylinders, if you turn the engine over until the inlet and then the outlet have closed, give it another half turn and both will be ok to check.
This video may help:

Probably not, it really depends on how much you have to drain. If you turn off the fuel tap whist doing it that will help, otherwise as you crack the drain fuel can run back into the tank and empty the line, then you will need to bleed. Don’t be feard if you do have to bleed though, it’s hardly a major job, yet, best if you can avoid it.
I can't see why, David, as surely the weight of fuel (if your tank is nearly full) will push fuel down the line into the filter/water-separator? (just to drain a few cl's of water off)

We were never 'fair-weather' sailors but the weekend's forecast would cast doubts in our minds about coastal passages!! :naughty:

In the past I have always popped a heater under my engine over winter, but since I now have a nicely rebuilt engine I was thinking of doing a proper drain down over the worst of the winter months. It then dawned on me that I don't have the slightest idea how to do this. My engine is not raw water cooled, so I guess it's only the heat exchanger to drain? Is there an easy way to do this?
We've been doing what David suggests for many years with total success. From a Sabb 2GZ, through a Volvo TAM D 41P to a Nannl 50. they all respond well!

Piccie attached from this week..
I wouldn't want to look at that with a hangover.........

Tolls
in Broads Chat
Yep and a tanger mentioned to me about a month ago that next years rise was said to be about 11percent. The re was also a rumour and it is only a RUMOUR that they were looking at disbanding the current visitor toll and making people buy a full license"They're 'aving a larff, aren't they?"

Gav, Hi
Looking forward to seeing the new one on Saturday; I don't even know what she is!
-
This happened to me in early days on the forum ad it was suggested (by David, 'Antares9', I think) that you should write the piece in 'Office' or 'My Docs' and then paste it into the post.. I've done this ever since with long posts.
Did you save a copy to your drafts?

Happens alot on longer posts - it will 'time out' and reset... best write it in word then cut and paste it into the box!!
We must stop meeting like this, Gav!

I don't know what happened but I submitted my second account of 3 men and a boat last night and its not appeared?

Hi Everyone
I see that the Blakes website has been updated/changed a little again and it also confirms that for 2011 they will not be representing Herbert Woods, which must be a massive loss of revenue for them.
Interesting to see a new boat at DRL Marine - "Magical Time" http://www.blakes.co.uk/Web/Blakes/Prod ... RCODE=1496
Also it seems that they have added lots of internals of many boats, so good to see that along with everyone else the pictures are improving in many cases

Hopefully the brochure wont be long now
Dan
Dan, Hi
That's an impressive write-up on Magical Time but I see they're not taking bookings until July..... I wonder why?

Rob, Hi
It's necessary to point out that there are frequent noticeboards which say "Slippery when wet". they are, in fact very slippery and nigh on dangerous at night. In the winter, when frozen, they ARE dangerous........ at least the bloody geese have been penned up.....
I recently asked David Archer to consider putting chicken wire down all along the walkways.....
-
Thanks, David.
I did install it but it doesn't work with Firefox, which is my preferred browser.
But now I've installed the English Dictionary it does!!!
-
It seems your previous ‘puter must have had that feature enabled John, rather than it being a feature of the forum. Perhaps akin to this one? http://www.iespell.com/
Thanks, David.

When I post a reply it used to underline any errors in both my words and the ones I had quoted.(As in yours above). Perhaps it's this new laptop but I've tried eveything to do with 'spell-check' and can't get it back.
