Some of us have to get from Beccles John If it was a full crosswind component, I would be seeking an alternate, that's for sure
Sorry, James. I can now see your meaning..........
We came from Somerleyton to Wroxham yesterday and it was a very long flog... I timed it to be at the Vauxhall bridges by LW +1.15 and we still had an ebb up the Bure unitl after Acle... despite the fact that at the Breydon bridge it was in flood already..........
Where are you aiming for on Friday?
-
Just a heads up guys! It's going to be rather windy Friday
Is that significant, James? I mean, the Bash isn't until Saturday....
-
Okay, could you please put us down for the following:-
Starters 1 x Soy and Ginger Chicken, 1 x Fan of Melon
Mains 2 x fillett steak
Thanks very much guys and girls
DUH!
-
Here goes, then:
1xDeep Fried Brie Wedges, 1xCalamari Hoops, 1x8oz Gammon, 1xSteak and Mushroom pie. Thanks, Barry.
ps. Still not got those Breydon pics yet..........

Would Sutton Staithe like us all to pre-order, Barry?
-
-
Thanks, Jill
That's what I'd hoped was happening...

Thanks John and I suppose if we can't get in, we could get into Riccos and walk as it's only about 1Km from there
Ditto us, Richard, and we'll share a taxi back if you wish!
-
Jim, Hi
I guess it's a fair bet you will as, being a Saturday, it's fair likely that most hire-boats will be changing over.... let's hope so, anyway!
-
Pete, Hi
Look forward to seeing you both!
THAT jumper.............. it reminds me of when we flew for Southern Air Cargo (aka the CIA's private Air Force) in the 80's.......
We had T-shirts given us that said:
"Admit Nothing
Deny Everything
Make Counter Accusations"
But that's another story!!
-
Sorry to be late in replying but I always use a hot-air gun or an hair-dryer to remove stickers. no problems!
-
Julz, Hi
We're so sorry to hear that and hope all goes well.
My scabs finally fell of last Thursday and unfortunately I have another from today.....
But NOT from the door-frame. this time the door-handle...........

The free mooring spots are no fishing this time of the year, but they can fish from the shingled part and further along as it is owned by the parish council and fishing is allowed,as you said the bonus is you can pop over the ferry for a pint or 2
If I moor there can they fish from the boat?
-
Try Postwick Staithe, opp Ferry Boat Inn,there are some super swims there,I have always had a good days fishing and it is still one of my favourite spots,
Thanks for that, w44nty! Just what I wanted........
I can leave them there and go across to the Ferry Boat for a jar or some!

We are planning a holiday from Sunday 25 July until Friday 6 August.
Our intention is to spend a couple of nights at Southwold, then head to Ipswich taking in the Walton Backwaters, then back up to Woodbridge dependant on the conditions finishing off with some time at RNSYC, OB, Beccles, etc. We have never been further than Southwold before, so this will be a whole new world for us!! If anyone is interested in coming along for any or all, then please let us know.
Adam, Hi
That is a most fantastically kind offer!
We've PM'd you on it!
ps We've got all the qualifications you need.........
-
I have arranged to take two (younger) guys out fishing and wonder if anyone can give any tips as to where we might go near Brundall? Surlingham Broad? Surlingham Ferry? Rocklands Broad? I just don't know.
Any suggestions (decent, please!) welcomed.

Sorry Brian,
I can't make it this year as I'm going off for another two week rag and stick trip in the Aegean.
I can, though, donate a bottle of scotch for the raffle, assuming that you still have the one I won last year!
Martin

I just wrote: "But that's another story we hope to hear soon from the players!"
And it's pretty obvious that I didn't read the previous post before I posted this one.....
Well , it was just after 6am this morning when I edited/re-sized the pics with Paint (Thanks to Col for the IT assist yesterday afternoon!)
And to Gavin for his master-class on eye-splicing on Saturday afternoon! (Now our mud-plug will never be parted from the boat!)
-
What a weekend!
The very last to leave yesterday afternoon were 'The Salties' ...
They were all in place at Somerleyton in time for the "trial" opening at 3pm....... listening in on Ch 6 & 12 was as good a comic-opera as we've ever heard...
It went on and on...
But that's another story we hope to hear soon from the players!

We set off bright and early on Friday morning at 7am. Coldham Hall wasn't very busy!
The Beauchamp Arms wasn't any better!
Friday Girl's quite content to burble along while I make a cuppa!
And we're cruising along at 5.9mph
When a rapidly moving hire boat heaves into view astern going rather quickly....
Neil, the eel-fisherman wasn't too impressed; he was all but overturned, about ten minutes before we reached him....
Cantley was quiet as well
Reedham Ferry's £3 a night hasn't done a lot for their trade!
Whereas the Lord Nelson looked to have been the busiest of all the pubs we passed on the Yare!
"Notorious" looked happy as we passed by
And Adam and crew passed us serenely on the New Cut...
We were quite pleased the crane-driver saw us!
Passing Somerleyton we actually saw a workman............
And finally to the WRC at 10.40; a beautiful morning's cruise!

If you have Microsoft Office installed John, this comes with a programme called Microsoft Picture Manager in which you can resize a whole batch of pics at once.
Mark, Hi
I do have Microsoft Works installed... does that help me?
