  1. hi clive and thanks for the update, she really is taking shape. i no this sounds a stupid question but do you have to repeat this process for evey design. or do you just cut things to size from the first mould? and how many man hours will it take to get to the first mould being produced ready for fitting out, thanks andy
  2. hi andy, were on no2 this sept il try and get some good photos and report back. we had a quick look on board back in april looked a very well built boat...
  3. hi andy, looking really smart.. have never hired this type of boat guess the nearest type would of been gainsborough girl, is your engine under the saloon floor or aft. hope you guys enjoy the rest of the season, happy boating
  4. brian not too loud dan might hear you neil thats very true i live in the area and i know of house holders being offered silly money to move out and rent their homes for the duration of the games, my grans got a caravan down on rainham marshes and we want £800 a week during the games seems a fair price to me
  5. hi clive, will your acle yard be getting any new boats for next season and will they get the new moulds in the future. its really good to see things picking up for all the hire yards, do you think the broads will benerfit in 2012 with the oylimpic being so closes and large increase of tourist that will flood into the east of england.
  6. i do think the age of the boat and the way its been maintained over its working life counts. i tend to hire the older boats as like others on the forum it gives us the option too have 2 or 3 trips a year. had a few problems over the years but nothing major and have allways found the yard we hired from responded very quickly. remember one year in august booking with herbert woods cant remember what boat now,had to call them out to a door handle that kept falling off the engineer told us that he had spent the whole weekend on call and had to attend some 25 boats with all kind of probs, saw him another 3 times that week even made him a cuppa as the boat next to us a woods boat, cocker had packed up. must of been a bad week for them. dan sure it was the wiper drunk and not the crew....
  7. it would be good to see a new mid size centre cockpit design. clive has already said rickos are only building for their own fleet and the current alpha 35 footer is a bit dated. Must say dan when we were in woods yard in may there was a large number of their fleet in and they look a lot smarter then iv seen them looking for a while.
  8. hi dan,was chating to one of the guys in the yard in may,he told me they were ordering two of the alpha dual steer moulds. i see swan craft are waiting on a new design for next season. do you know if this is a new alpha mould ?
  9. guys its the world cup!!!! and clive followes the dutch as do most broads boat yard owners as spain has nicked too many of their customers. spare boat jonhny A boat would be nice anyone been to rickos have they moulded the first boat yet?. god iv glued my finger too the phone waiting for the first pic of the mould in the shed so we can book. its like waiting for the next harry potter book/film
  10. hi andy, she really is looing good when do you start hiring her out
  11. really great pic guys.what a fantactic coulour scheme astons had the only other one that sticks to mind was castle craft. oxford blue hull with the red and white stripe at the water line. why did astons close their doors? is the yard at beccels still their?
  12. hi dan, just spent the last hour looking through your web sites and their great imho. all that only cost you £50?? arthur good photos and i also would like to know more of aston history.
  13. hi andy,H B seem to be doing a good job for you. good to see such a big yard doing good work on private boat, bet you cant wait to get her afloat again?
  14. thought this thread had gone quite now we no why!! have wonderfull day clive hope the sun shines for you both.
  15. thanks for the info guys, clive with the increased demand for boating hols the last two years do you think once your current projects are up and running the richarsons group will mould for third parties or is this an avenue you wouldnt want to go down. andy
  16. just a thought.. who is going to fill the gap in the market place? will alpha come out with some new moulds? clive has said he is building for his own fleet same for len funnell.??? do we need another aquafibre?
  17. looking good clive, just out of interest what does your father think? i guess you could say he is responsable for some broads classics. does he approve or is he a traditional wooden boat fan. being a bit cheeky we are back up in september on sunray would it be ok to have a better look at her,did try last month but thier was no one in the shed,ta
  18. had to change our hol plans for augst phoned ricko and told them my probs. have had to change date to sept and we are now having broads suncharm wow having a new boat now.had to pay addmin charge but thats the norm. cant wait
  19. hi mark, yeah the cards a great idea got sum way to go to catch up mate!! couldnt really fault the boat was comfy clean and everything work well. paint job wasnt the best tho, moored up at ludham bridge thurs night with loads of clives boats and must say it didnt look as good as the others. but im sure that will be put right. the yard at stalham is much improved as well. the richardson family really do seem to understand what their customers want and for me they really have got it right. you can now pay your hol balance by instalments as long as its paid by the due date( graet idea) have plans for that one, can see us on a rc35 next year .gold gem will have to do for august tho need a new car.
  20. hi all, just returned from a fantastic few days afloat on the broads just a big thanks to all at rickos fantastic service and vaule for money. staff on swan quay were great on departure and on our return, trail run driver (brian i think) was fantastic. had concerto 3. we had never been boating so early in the seson and really have seen a different side to the broads, it was our first trip with no kidds (all grown up) enjoyed it so much we booked our next trip for aug already. just one thing clive concerto 3 really does need a coat of paint.. oh have now got my loyalty card.
  21. hi all,had a good look onboard fairway this morning after returnig back to rickos.very smart and loads of room for 6. sure theses boats are going to be a big hit jamacia looked very smat too couldnt find out any info re clives new boats, anyone got any info wen they go on sale for next year??? clive ta
