  1. Hi we would like to stop at Brightlingsea as I used to sail from there in the 80s so would like to see how it has changed Whilst in the area the Blackwaters are a must to visit as it is lovely there.

    Any Excuse

Thats 2nd gear still on your bike you still have 4 more. Also 120mph or flat out about 168mph on the 955i is a bit more than 19 mph dont you think even though its on water.

    Any Excuse

hyb, Because I was on one engine I could only do 11 knots with the tide and look at the size or the wash large I would say. Had I had both engines I would have been doing 20+ knots with far less wash and still not as fast as a reidential area on the road so plenty of time to look at whats ahead. In fact if my boat did 50 knots (I wish) there would be very little wash as there would not be much hull in the water and probably less than some of the river boats around as they come past my moorings flat out and i mean some not all. I cannot see a reason for speed control on breydon waters unless of coarse your names victor meldrew or somthing like that
  5. ops Im off the same the next week as well
  6. Hi Ian. What dates are you thinking of as I am off 19th 20th 21st of april off so would be up for a run if I can sort the fuel starvation problem by then Barry
  7. Hi Mark When my boat got hit by a Herbert Woods craft last summer they came out and repaired my gel coat and fixed my davits and I must say the repair was perfect (maybe they do private work) and a world apart from the repair i had done by a local reputible company which I can still see the colour miss match now so if you want to know who it was pm me and I will let you know. Barry
  8. It looks fine dont make me panic as i left the engine raw water stop cocks open

  14. Hello we have a fairline turbo 36 with tamd 60b 235hp engines I have been told that I should get about 1.5mpg at about 16 knots. Does anyone have any knowlege on this hull and engine set up to confirm this. The waterline hull length is 36ft and 13.4 beam planing hull and weighs around 11 tonnes when loaded. Barry
  15. Just leave it as it is mate, you only need to change them once every 3 1/2 years mate
  16. Holland would be good but it does worry me a little having a 27 year old boat and engines. I know the boat would make it and im sure the engines would be fine but I would be a bit twitchy being 50 miles from land. But I still want to do it somtime I would love to coast hop round to the solent but would need a big weather window and lots and lots of fuel. A trip to harwich would be good for a long weekend? Barry
  17. Hi Gav hope all is well. It's not foor me as you can see. but we were looking at a sealine 330 and the birchwood and im know expert but the birchwood was a thousand time's better . It had a lot more space you could sit around the table without banging you head (not like the sealine) the sides of the superstructure did not push in and out when pushing it with your fingers as on the sealine (whats that all about) and in the sealine when i stood on it well it nearly fell over . see you soon enough Barry
  18. I was with some friends at the weekend on a fishing trip (sort of ) when we thought we would have a look around NYA at Brundall. We had a look at some nice boats but a Birchwood 330 challenger caught our eye so we decided to have a look around the boat. Once on board I could not believe how much room there was for a 33ft boat ?. It had A full size or maybe even bigger master bed in the bow with reasonable storage, a very good size bathroom, a double mid cabin, a decent galley, comfortable seating for 6 in the saloon, a good size cockpit and a good size flybridge. The boat has Yammar 230hp diesels with a top speed of 28 knots. As we looked around the other boats of the same sort of size, it looked to me that this boat was light years ahead of the others. Does anyone have any knowlege of owning one of these boats or know someone who has as I would like to know if they have any downsides. Barry
