  1. this is going to be a good one to two get off,I got the shout for this boat last night apparently they had run aground at the bridge, when in fact they were 200 hundred feet from the a47.unable to get to them I left them on for the night, this morning they were so drunk that helicopter refused to lift them.all they did was laugh at us as we rowed over to them in a foot of water, now that boat is stuck there for a week till the tide is high and we have Marked a channel out

    Oops

Got this one of today at high water, not an easy task as he went on at speed.BUT be warned in that part of the shallow there's a lot of rubbish,we have just removed a car tyre from my prop.and now I'm of at midnight to fetch mustang back,
  3. hi if it's in our favour ie tides with us and no waiting required it totals 155 pounds.emergency calls are a different tariff but if you book a tow we can work out a rate for each occasion.hope this helps
  4. :thankyou we aim to please, sorry about the fenders but they keep my old man safe over the "busy"season .we are putting moorings in this year so the front will slowly become more clear as work advances making it easier to moor
  5. hi hopefully it's not braking the rules, our 24hr number is 07943700865 we are EMS
  6. We cover all of the broads with our 24hr recovery tug,but as yet had not thought of doing a scheme.at the moment you can call and we come.being based at GY we are about in the middle of it all.
  7. yes have been told the same, fingers crossed
  8. Hi all I have a friend with a boat for sale.this one is a bit special 50foot steel trawler style cruiser built in 1979 and never used.has got running motor and the steel work is still very good.also has a current BSC and is broads regestered but has never been moved.could make nice house boat.

    Speeding

we have spent the last two years trying to sort out the absolute disregard for the speed on the lower Bure.we are new to the Norfolk broads but come from a long boating back ground and this sort of behaviour is unacceptable and destructive.we have had false promises from the police and the Rangers do not actually range this far down.last year we were hit and the guy told my wife to f??k off as he shot off at high speed.and can you believe we were hit head on at 06.30 in the morning, after the paramedic finished with them and the wrecked boat towed away the guy told me he his son spilt a drink so he left the wheel to sort him.

  12. thats interesting I'll go and take a look next week,if they are carefull enough with a wherry then they can be trusted.some yards are a bit gung ho with lifting out and my old Prussian coaster is precious to me as its believed to be the last of its kind

    Short film

I would like to put a short piece of film showing a speeding and overtaking, but seem not to have permission, help please.
  14. looks like it may be Lowerstoft for the slip out.in Great Yarmouth the minimum price is 2000pounds.the problem being they play with the big boys and two grand is a sniff to them.i was hoping to find someone on the broads and give them a chance to earn some money.
  15. working out the fuel and the dry dock it's the same price give or take as the dry dock here.so it's just do I fancy a trip or not.i will look in to Lowerstoft as I have only spoken to one firm at the moment"Lowerstoft slipway service".
  16. both Alicat and fender care are very high price,it would be cheaper to hire a crane.it may be a trip down to Maldon my home town and go in a dry dock,it's just the time there and back and the fuel cost at 22ltrs an hour
  17. Hi all Before we go to Lowerstoft in the winter for a scrub of paint and altra sound,is there a slip or a hoist on the broads that can carry 89tons.even a crane out if anyone knows a yard with the space.
  18. you are correct the last one that hit us finished up match wood.nice little NB less work than a woody or a plastic .more time on the river less time in the shed!
  19. i watched three big private boats playing on Breydon Monday, looked like they were having good fun running flat out.apparently they can cross from yarmouth to the Berney in just six minutes.as for speeding up the Bure it's not just the mallards you need to watch out for,for some reason there is a total disregard for the speed limit here at yarmouth.over taking boats doing six mile per hour seems to be a sport here and as for the wash that's just a joke.i have cctv on my yard now for security but one camara covers the river so I am reporting the reg numbers to the broads beat of all the boats that speed private and hire craft alike.
  20. yes there are some nasty stakes in that corner.i towed six boats off the same spot last year and two this year so far.i towed a private boat of last year he told me that the marker posts are only there for deep draught vessels?no they are there to show you the channel unless you can float on mud was my reply as he sat at 45degrees.
  21. i spotted him going past our yard the other day.nice little live aboard tidy, like the extra bit on the back bet it gives him more space, nice to see more live on boaters.
  22. safe and sound,I think it went back under her own steam.with a bit of luck she will be on hire again Friday.
  23. Hi all, sorry no pics as it was a bit dark, but John Cressy and his old mate Bill, who were hanging on the side of Hurricane at the time I pulled her off had a good ride, lol, had to be towed backwards to the mooring, all good fun, you know where we are if you need us, Thanks Terry.
  24. Nearly right, the chap who owns Tosh and EMS is me Terry, John is my Uncle, Tosh managed to pull Hurricane off last night, and yes we do keep a very beady eye on East Port, Hurricane got a couple of new scratches, other than that it's fine.
