  1. Oh, there'll be one somewhere.......
  2. Hiya Grace Hope you're well? Let's just say we never went back there again for anything to eat. AND that wasn't in high season either, so it's not as though they had any excuse for the quality of the food or the length of time we were waiting or their complete lack of interest. Hence, my choice never to eat out whilst we're on the Broads. I know it's not to everyone's taste to cook in a tiny kitchen, but at least I know what we're eating, how long it'll take to cook and Mr N would never DARE to complain to the kitchen staff Anyway, enough said about that Linda x
  3. You are very welcome, JF However, with regard to eating at the KH in Hoveton, I may very well have to leave that tale to Mr N as he is far more polite than I in matters such as quality of food and length of time waiting to be served etc.... He tends to rein me in slightly
  4. Hi folks, I hope everyone had a lovely Easter, especially you JF and you Grace I've been reading your holiday tale too and have really enjoyed watching how your days have panned out (In fact Mr N and I got our heads together for the pic of the Kings Head in Hoveton - did he ever tell you about the time we stopped there for food?) Many thanks for giving Mr N his Broads fix, JF Linda x
  5. And I agree with that, Grace, you can have dozens all in different colours to match the occasion.......and of course I meant pairs of shoes, not husbands.....but there again, that's an interesting concept xx
  6. I couldn't resist this one either.....two extremely well fed white geese
  7. Aww...our very pleasant boating bit of the holiday is coming to an end We're moored at The Ferry at Stokesby and all I can think about is having to give the boat back in the morning! The only consolation is a few days in Norwich before we go back home, with the opportunity to drag NN round a few more shops (I'm joking, of course ). At least we've got the next NB holiday to look forward to in May and if need a fix before that at least coming on here will help! It's just started snowing again, a bit weird with brilliant blue sky...
  8. Hi Simon, Welcome from me too xx I'm a kind of newbie, only just got my own individual account, but my other half, Norfolk Nog, has been on here for quite a while. I agree that it's a very friendly and knowledgeable place to be if you get stuck on anything! Enjoy xx Mrs Nog
  9. Hi Jean, thank you for the links. All I need to do now is get into them! As long as they aren't in the Members Only bit, I'll be fine, otherwise, I have a sex change and log on as Mr Nog
  10. Hi Jean, I'm interested in reading these. Where may they be found, please? Xx
  11. Hi folks, another thing that bugs me (only slightly, as we're on holiday), is the size of the fridge on hire boats. Yes, I know that it's probably the same size fridge that you get in caravan, but perleeeeease! Nowhere to put any frozen stuff, and very limited with storage for chilled, like raw and cooked meat or salad. I bought a yellow pepper for salad and had to cut it in half to get it onto one of the 'shelves'.
  12. I know that this is probably not what you would expect, but Mr N and I don't really drink on the boat. He uses the trip as a way to sample the extremely good pubs...and beers...available on the Broads. I agree with you about the bathroom/toilet tho, but never had any problem with the boats that we've hired...so far at least. Swancraft were in particular superb and I personally still miss hiring from them
  13. Hi Grace Apart from doing it again and logging on as Howard, I'm fine! We've just has a pump out at Swancraft, filled up with water and had a good yack. Now heading for Rockland xx Divorce in April is probably on the cards tho! Lind Ps Grace, Howard hates Whitney Houston, but I LOVE her. Woman after my own heart xx
  14. The calor gas fire in the lounge was a one-off! Probably a H&S nightmare, but really good if you wanted instant heat!
  15. I wouldn't be so bold as saying fetish, but in some of Mr N's Q&P's in the past, he's taken photos of the Richardsons boats especially for Grace, as she likes them. We made really good friends with all of the folks at Swancraft, but now we're hiring from Bridgecraft and getting to know Mark, Stephanie and Daniel. I take it Howard mentioned what happened at Herbie Woods boatyard in December with the Environment Agency? It was really lovely that Daniel came all the way there to look for us xx
  16. We know this, as when we've walked through Richardsons boatyard (and taken pictures of some of their boats for Grace) we've seen most of the Swancraft fleet. It's the personal touch that we miss more than anything though
  17. Thank you, and I agree with what's been said on here earlier, in that a boat could have as many bells, whistles and techno gadgets as you can shake a stick at, but if the kitchen and bathroom are sub standard and if there isn't enough storage space, then I wouldn't thank you for it! Another point would be the heating and a decent calorifier. This is where Swancraft excelled. I miss the fact that they no longer hire
  18. OK folks, I'm not sure whether this is what you have in mind for a 'her view' of a boat, but I can tell you the story of the very first time that Mr Nog brought me on the Broads. We'd only been together for just over a year and I'd never done any kind of boating holiday ever before. Mr Nog was trying to impress me and hired Camero 2 from Sabina Marine. We picked it up from Wroxham and although I could see why Mr N was trying to impress me, I would seriously never want to hire that boat again! There was a 'four poster bed' in the bedroom, and to be honest, they used more than a bit of artistic licence describing it as that. Four poster bunk was more apt! Plus, there was no deck at the front, so you couldn't grab any ropes and jump on land to moore up. In fact, I can't remember how on earth we moored up The boat was 'compact' with a living room shaped like a wishbone and the tiniest of kitchens. Still, he tried and it certainly didn't put me off. The next year we started to rent from Swancraft and didn't look back. Ironically, one of my favourite boats was another ex Sabina Marine boat, called Caprice (aka FineTime). It was quirky and extremely cute, until it started to experience some damage. Kindest regards, Mrs Nog
  19. Grace, this one is just for you Man says to God: "God, why did you make woman so beautiful?" God says: "So you would love her." Man says: "But God, why did you make her so dumb?" God says: "So she would love you" Lind xx
  20. You like? Another What do Alexander the Great and Winnie the Pooh have in common? Same middle name. Xx
  21. I'm not allowed into the jokes area yet, so I'll post this here...hang on folks What do you get when you cross a dyslexic, an insomniac, and an agnostic? Someone who lays awake at night wondering if there is a dog.
  22. Ohh, he did, Helen I'll never, ever do that again! Talk about being shot at dawn!
  23. Sorry, predictive text is a nightmare. I meant Dyke, not Duke xx
  24. Afternoon people xx Thank you for the warm welcome, Polly. No doubt Howard will be putting something on Q&P 10 shortly, but we have just manoeuvred Upton Duke, moored stern on at Eastwood Whelpton boat yard and sitting snuggly in the White Horse. Very local, dog friendly pub
  25. Ahh. That's better. I think my photo is better than Howard's anyway. We bought a window squeegee from Roys, so at least we've got something just in case. And, Sir Hockham Admiral, I would never give dog treats to Howard, perish the thought! However, I've heard tales of couples arguing and the wife cooking a tin of whiskas for her husband
