It’s about time the UK enforced a visitor daily road tax to all these foreign trucks who come over here.
who don’t pay for nothing..No road tax .. No fuel.. No overnight parking charges. No fines... Etc etc..
When the shoe is on the other foot when we go over there.. We have to pay for everything...Just think of the extra millions of pounds what could be going in the UK pot for every vehicle over 3.5tonne arriving in the UK 🇬🇧
And coming out of every purse to pay for it.

There has been two or three oil leaks of late. One resulted in numerous EA vehicles coming together in Brundall marina a few weeks back.

Can`t remember which model it was but back in the 70`s my father brought a brand new Vauxhall, had nothing but trouble with the brakes, months later the dealer found that the rear hubs were oval!

So this is the first real week of work for truckers after the holidays and I see that the petty nonsense has started already. Truckers coming into Holland are having their sandwich lunches confiscated, as they are bringing cooked meat into the EU.
Just seen the story on BBC news.

But not in the driver's own sandwich lunch, Surely??
It was dairy products as well, it seems, as the driver had spread some butter on his bread.
Of course not Vaughan, I was talking more about suitcases of "traditional food" being brought in to a country from elsewhere.

Food such as meat (in many cases uncooked) I can understand.
In December I an bought an item from a person in Holland on fleabay for the boat and yesterday I received a message saying Sorry, it was an old listing that I forgot to remove. Yeah right, as if!

I have vintage car magazines from the 1950's and in the letters pages people are complaing about the money raised from road tax being used for other areas of the economy while the roads were not properly maintained.
Hmm. If that's still the case maybe there's a case for changing the way money is raised.
That has always been a mute point about where the revenue raised goes, I remember the case for replacing Road Tax by increasing the cost of fuel, a sort of Pay As You Go Tax. Being a cabbie at the time I was opposed to the idea of course.

I suspect you will see the price of petrol and diesel fuel rocket due to supply and demand and the treasury!
Along with the cost of the road tax.

Four lane carriage way with grass holding area between the two sets of lanes, anyway, this muppet tried to reach the central holding area but stopped short leaving the rear doors and tailgate of an SD1 in front of me which I slammed in to at 70mph. Shortened my Fiesta mk1 by almost 3ft and put me in hospital, he was charged with careless driving.

I was referring to earlier posts OldBerkshireBoy where others used the names
I see that, do you know the answer though? I merely ask as I raised this very point regarding the quiz before and nobody addressed it.

I wonder how far anglers will travel to exercise sitting on a stool. I might buy a rod and reel and sit on a bench in the park behind our house to practice as there isn’t a river nearby!
Sorry but I don`t think you are allowed to use the bench to practise casting your line.

I would happily drive 5 miles to meet either lady I wonder if things might have been different if one of them had had a dog with them?

I had no idea that others knew of the scam. Trust you alerted your family to it.

Thats been around for sometime now - not sure its that successful once they start asking for money!
As I understand the scam, I wonder how many people would take it up and spend £10 for an appointment.

Hi folks, just heard about a Covid scam, from what I understand it starts off by offering a jab but goes on asking for personal details and a payment for an appointment. Maybe worth sending a warning to elderly parents not to fall for it.

There was no American influence at that time.
Most if not all musicians of that time listened to American music then took it forwards and created their sounds.

I would say that it is a classic regardless. One thing I did find interesting was another track of theirs "I like it" was offered to The Beatles first who I thought wrote all their own songs.
