Here in Leicestershire I didn't witness racism until I left school in the early seventies. When my kids went to school they witnessed hardly any racism. My grandchildren cannot for the life of them understand hate based on skin colour/religion and even sexual orientation. Racism should be encouraged to "grow out" of our culture with generations, which it is naturally doing. Unfortunately, there seems to be a group of people who's agenda includes stoking the racism fire to keep it current.

As always the media doesn't help.

What fluffy cloud do you live on? I am white and my girlfriend is black and I have a friend of mine in the same sort of relationship. Why do I get evil stares from groups of men from both sides if you know what I mean?

wrong, its nothing to do with colour, its to do with a lack of respect for another human being, any human being, by making it to do with colour specifically, you are displaying a lack of respect for your fellow human.

Respect is everything, lack of respect is the cause, and the symptoms, if you lack respect for the one, you will lack respect for the other.

My word, you did use "Respect" a lot in your return reply!

To go along your lines of respect for different colours or nationality will always be a confrontation for many, but nature will always concern all of us.

basically all the issues stirred up by the media boil down to the lack of respect, for anything.

You have gone from racism to the environment, they are two different arguments.

One is to do with colour, the other is to do with peoples lack of respect for nature that includes all nationalities.

Any excuse to have civil unrest... These are the same idiots who caused the extinct rebellion unrest months ago in the city... Same faces again.. Who really don’t care about the cause of the protest and it’s meaning....

    Totally agree.

Their cause has more meaning if it is carried out peacefully.

Same as the people who live on the streets. So when you see them leave their cardboard beds, empty food packaging and their personal waste for others to clean up, you feel less sorry for them!

Up to Brundall and back today, took the Broom back ready for launching, one day.

Driving was like being back in the late 70s, hardly any traffic about, a very pleasant drive for a change.

I have learnt that the Muppets that we encounter be it on the media or around us have locally have no idea what is going on. There are some where their lives have not changed  at all, they are oblivious to the lost loved ones that have died during these trying times.

That's humanity for you. People die every day and if you were to feel sorry for every death for how unfortunate it was, you would be mourning for the rest of your life. I lost my sister in law last year to cancer and had many a bad nights sleep, so how many outside my family and on social media would be the same?

    Good morning all,

We are aware of the posts on social media by Barnes Brinkcraft regarding hire boats and their statement that they have received permission from DEFRA and the Broads Authority to recommence hiring.

This is categorically untrue, we are expecting an announcement soon from DEFRA on guidance for hire craft however no permission has been granted by the Broads Authority and we are still waiting for the Government announcement.

We are now in direct communication with Barnes Brinkcraft’s management to get this clarified and corrected. We are conscious that this will have caused confusion amongst hirers and business owners. Please await further news soon.

    Tom

Obviously this is a marketing thing to get people interested and back into day hire of their boats. Also I reckon Barnes are hoping authorities don't look at their Faceache page and permission is received before this gets noticed!:default_blink:

Its a matter of pride in appearance, a well presented work van says a lot about the standards you can expect.

I disagree with you on this, it means nothing.

Even Gary boys exist in Yorkshire at your age! It does make me laugh when I see tradesman go around in vans that look like they come out of the A Team era :default_biggrin:

Any one fancy the Red Lion or The Bridge House at Coltishall? Yours for £750,000 each.

Too many headaches for many, and with that money you can buy a brand new cruiser and afford to take your booze with you!

For many years until his retirement he was Colonel in Chief of the Grenadier Guards and that is the uniform we see him in here.  By the way, the Queen is laughing because she had just walked past and didn't recognise him!

Sorry Vaughan, but you made me laugh at this bit! :default_biggrin:

And I would have been proud to serve beside any one of them.

Along those lines you would of been safe!

Its common knowledge that any Royal that serves in battle will have protection, because if whoever we are fighting against kill a Royal like Harry or William, its a victory for them!

I’m not a royalist in any way shape or form, so the question is simple really, what’s the point of your post, so what if he does or doesn’t, thinly veiled sarcasm or poorly bounded irony are not 100% in line with our TOS.

    Just a thought

Sorry, but with some threads they can punch certain buttons and things can get out of TOS.

    Wrong, wrong and wrong.

I do however have a huge respect for our Armed Forces who serve, and have served, Queen and country regardless of rank.

I have a huge respect for our armed forces who are on the frontline who have to confront mental and physical torture, the ones behind the safety line I do not.

It looks even better when they have earned the right to wear them.

    Really :default_biggrin:

I have this funny feeling that not only do you fly a British flag outside your home, have your morning brew in a mug with the Queens face on it, but worryingly you have the Royal family as a screen saver!

    Am I right?
