  1. The broads should be restricted to boats, fisherman on the bank and the little craft like day boats. For me swimming in the broads is a no no(unless of course I fall in) so along with paddle boarding it should be kept to a confined area like a lake, as these two don't mix well with possibly intoxicated boaters.

I personally wouldn't like to swim in any river and any water sports that differ from what I think the broads should be used for, should be in a controlled area.

if nobody is after an older boat that will force the end of life upon it. I find that quite sad really, that a boat that is still serviceable could end up scrapped just because it's not the nicest to look at or because it's a bit old fashioned.

I can see that happening with the bath tubs of today that they are renowned for, but at the moment I believe they are good for hiring if you are on a budget. Although the way I see it with people upcycling out of date plane fuselages to train carriages and sticking them in their garden, it won't belong before someone will transform one of those boats and have the biggest and slightly weird hot tub in Britain.

What think the team of this?

It might be legit, as this bit of the email got me thinking. But as they say, check out the email address before replying.

Don't forget your email can be hacked from any country, and people travelling will try to access their email accounts from different parts of the globe, so these email providers have to be careful.

Hi all, hope you are well.

Thank you @grendel, @Jbx5 and @brundallNavy for sharing your photographs and reports of this speeding vessel.

This is now an active investigation and we are gathering evidence. I have sent you all a direct message, please get back to me as soon as you can.

    Best,

    Tom

Can you post your reports on this investigation on this website, or do we have to look elsewhere for updates on another website?

2230 and a Brinks Boat two boats down started up their  engine. I was counting to ten hoping their immediate neighbours would have a word when they cast of and departed into the night - wow

With the quality led floodlights you can buy now, anyone can feel that they have the confidence to cruise at night!

It has been pointed out that these boats are advertised up for sale, now i do know there is a separate bylaw regarding boats for sale and tolls, which may or may not be applicable in this situation

Now that has given me an idea Grendel. If I ever own a boat and cruise around the broads I will display a "For Sale" sign. That way I can moor where I want for however length of time that suits me, knowing I am operating just inside the law.

Del Boy had the right idea all along, "Tax in the Post" displayed in his three wheeler.:default_biggrin:

    Update:-

Golden Lance now sold. Apparently for the full asking price

    Griff

Very surprising concerning the state of play at the moment with selling things. You would think if you offered 10% less of the asking price at the moment, the seller would jump for it. Obviously the buyer knew he was getting a good deal.

I find your comment both patronising, short sighted and ill-judged.

    Really!

Are you telling me that no one have taken their 80% government covid 19 wage to enjoy the broads, knowing that a job is still waiting for them?

The danger, as with most things, is throwing the baby out with the bath water. Since I moved to Norfolk I have come to know quite a few liveaboards and they are all immaculate and lived in by nice, decent people.

Any kind of regulation needs to concentrate on spoiling the environment rather than being a liveaboard per se I think.

There will always be that stigma that attach to these people, they live of the land and stuff anyone else.

You will get the good and the bad that live on the rivers, unfortunately the bad leaves a mark in peoples minds.

it may be a deliberate policy, so if there is a crash at the bridge or some other incident they can shut the cameras down before they broadcast it.

    Really!

The legal side of things does take the fun/reality of it all.

I can remember many many years ago a programme/series portrayed lawyers as gunslingers but I can't remember what it was. If you can, it would be appreciated.

I can't say I appreciate you posting those last photos, when I had already said I used to live in that bungalow.

I now feel as though someone has just walked over my grave.

    There it was,

    and then it was gone,

and then it was a house.

I have to agree with Vaughan on this one and for me, it was a poor taste of words!

What situation? All I see is somebody making a statement that they resent paying a landowner for the privilege of mooring a boat stern on in the river and me making the relevant point that you have a choice if it causes you so much resentment that you make a public statement about it. That is the situation. If there's more to it, perhaps you need to take that up with your landowner.

It basically boils down to the fact that people think you are charging far too much for what you give. When you see that series that when landlords left their luxury cars and houses to live the life of one of their tenants, you might understand their perspective!

  13. Well the local authorities have said that anyone returning to any place that hasn't seen their taps running for a while now, need to let them flow for a few minutes due to possible legionnaires disease in the water.

I noticed 1763 written on the batteries, I do feel the model making of BA originated from this date! :default_biggrin:
