  4. ADHD - Really? This is a true story - I was there, it happened a few years ago There is a cafe just outside of Walkeringham (Nr to Gainsborough) where I visit at lunchtimes if I'm working around that area. Grandma in her fifties and her daughter (Mum) in her mid twenties work there. One day I was sat having my lunch along with other customers whilst Grandma and daughter were having somewhat of a disagreement about the grandchild / young son which we could all hear, I've condensed it down somewhat -------------------------- Grandma - You need to take charge of your son and show him some proper ground rules and discipline Daughter - He can't help being naughty Mum, it's not his fault he has got ADHD Grandma - Rowlocks - When I have your son / my grandson round to stay he is as good as gold because he knows the consequences if he misbehaves as he has found out to his cost before now. ADHD my 'derrière' (She used a shorter more common expression) ------------------- There were about twenty of us in the cafe, Grandma got a round of applause from the customers, Daughter got a red face and stormed off round the back into the kitchen Griff
  5. Those of us who have been married for a long time have learned to never point that out. Only earlier this evening I found mysen in hot water with Commander-in-chief-Home She mentioned that she would like to be a silent partner in a business earning a fat yearly wage All I said was - You could never be silent as long as you have a hole in your derrière I've since scarpered out of t lounge and sought refuge here in t office Griff

  16. Visited client, fuelled up, went back home (forgot boat keys ) Departed at 1715, onboard for 2015. Kettle is on. No time for scran. Forgot my meds 😟 Griff
  17. Stuff it then. Going to visit a client locally for an estimate in ten minutes then straight on my way via fuelling Trevor Transit - Norfolk (Stalham) bound Measure up / take notes Quick coffee, Drive back home What's 320 mile between friends on a Friday? Gotta get back tonight as a stack of stuff to do tomorrow here at home / daughters Queen - 'Under Pressure' Griff PS - Thanks for the offers of gratis / loan gear too
  18. This isn't that straight forward, can't order gear without visiting onboard to take some measurements I'm not sure if our pos and neg battery posts are the same size and need to know which size too even if they are the same To change over to vertical studs I will need new multi strand cable throughout as all ours have soldered ends to comply with the BSS where the cables are clamped onto the battery. To change the ground cable over to the opposite end of the battery run will need a longer length of cable too for both banks and I don't know how long New pos and neg cable throughout plus longer ground cables - £80:00 - ish 12 x vertical studs - £40:00 26 x ring crimp cable lugs - £52:00 Plus I need to borrow a crimping tool for the cable lugs I had intended to sort this lot next visit but I need to get down there and take some measurements. That means two round trips = 640 miles B O A T = Bung On Another Thousand (Yet another one) Griff
  19. Tks. We have both solar and shore power. Rarely do we disconnect the batteries, we do have a master breaker switch though Griff
  20. Yes he will have and I hope they give him years of service Having three batteries in each bank I’m going for option one of your two diagrams I’m going to have to get hold of two longer lengths of multi strand ground cable. I’m on it. Tks Griff
  21. Would he then have been "under the influencer" ? Ha Ha, very good 'He' most certainly would have been (Already was) Griff
  22. The simple reason I cannot attend is that on 17th May all day I will be at Lambton on a team clay shooting event which Griffs Growlers are attending, I'm team captain and all four of us must be in attendance. This was booked (And paid for) ages ago now On the upside however the following weekend I will be onboard for a long weekend afloat Griff
  23. Sunday morning 21st April Up fresh, heating and morning tv on - No issues and new batteries held up to full expectations. Did some more bank clearance, I can report that I am now well past that tree and reckon I have cleared another good ten feet - Until the next time then I then produced a FCE for the pair of us, then after clearing up we sailed for the wetshed. No need for a pump out as the heads had hardly been used What was it with the blasted wind? not only was there too much of it, it was just far too cold. I wanted to give the topsides a proper wipe down as apparently it had rained overnight but had to give it up as my hands were going numb Into Wetshed - Quick clean through and we departed for home. I left at 1250 and got home for 1600 so only just made a family dinner in a local pub at 1615 - that was a close call So, a good if short weekend afloat. For those of you that have not yet met 'Aboattime' - He is a thoroughly nice chap (For a southerner), good company an experienced helm, and a former boat owner. It was a pleasure to have made his acquaintance Griff
