  1. T711 was removed by the authourity to the Thorpe Dockyard due to pollution problems. She is now out of the water.
  2. Carol thanks for the info, will get to first thing in the morning.
  3. Teadaemon, I dont post very much on any of the forums, but I do lurk a lot I was going to join in the thread about the jobsworth Ranger speaking to someone moored right in front of a 4ft+2ft sign saying no mooring, but I thought why spoil a good rant. Lovely picture of me though.......did well to catch me not just swanning about up the river drinking tea. Andy
  4. Traditional Broads Boat = Wherry........take the mast of the Wherry = Bathtub
  5. Ive kept a bathtub at Ranworth for over 15 years. She comes out every third year for a bottom half paint, check anodes and a antifoul. During the winter we take her for a bimble up the river every 2 or three weeks. I have never left any heating on in any part of the boat, I even leave a couple of windows slightly open. So far (touch wood) I havn`t had any problems.
  6. Dan, better that than a rev counter. I will stopped now
  7. Clive, you seemed to have missed my point. you already fit rev counters, when were they calibrated,? when the boat was first built,? how many engines ago was that ? A good gps is fitted once, problem solved. The point you make about dayboats is a very good point, those without indication of speed cause problems for ALL broads users, they get stopped, and their day is spoilt. Those with gps dont get stopped and enjoy the day. Its not just a good service to your own hirers, its good for all. Andy
  8. Clive , not very forward thinking. Those few yards that have them fitted dont get pulled, its a customer service, far more useful than satellite tele, and its good for other broads users Andy
  9. Clive, I spend a huge amount of my time telling people to slow down including Richardsons boats, when its bad enough to stop the hirer and speak with them, they usually they have a rev counter, which is usually calibrated incorrectly. So I fill in a report, stateing the problem, a copy goes to the hire firm. Then the following week the same boat comes out, has it been recalibrated, probably not. So why not put on a GPS, how much extra would it cost on top of a hundred thousand pound build, problem solved. Then when the on the spot fine system comes in, your customers will never be stopped, or if they are, there will be no excuse.
  10. Clive, as a new build are you incorparating a tamper proof GPS ?
