Well I did my shore power last weekend and its working fine,in the end I opted for the 2 plugs set up as its seemed easier than the switch I bought Andy

Got my sterling power manual cross over switch today,now reading through the brief instructions I notice that the Earth wire doesn't go to the switch but by- passes it and goes direct to the consumer unit,now I was wondering what would be the best way to join 3 earth wires together,I was thinking maybe a Bus bar ? Any ideas Andy

My boat has an inverter fitted on it and a ring main consisting of 3 sockets,if I plumb shore power into the existing consumer unit would I still need a splitter switch even though the Inverter has a on/off switch in the cabin? Andy

Cattleya, that's exactly what we did last winter and as it was our first winter as a boat owner wanted to do it right, and we carried on boating through all the bad weather,just avoid the ice though,it makes a mess of your paint! Andy
