Fred,

I don't wish to doubt your boating knowledge however are you sure the entire Ferry Mutineer class appeared in the 1973 Blakes brochure? I believe 6 were built based on the reg nos 2 in 1974, 2 in 1975 (inc Emerald) and 2 in 1976. The 1st Calypsos were launched by FB Wilds in 1973?

Thanks

Neil

Hi Neil, Question away! Embarrassingly your right on every count. Just checked and I was looking at the 1976 brochure and my jottings were 1975 with makes me feel a right twit. Down to crossed filling but it does show I should have checked what I was looking at before posting. Now I'm off to sit in the corner. :default_dunce:

We are now the proud owners of Emerald. we have had here for about 6 weeks now

She was in a bit of a mess inside but was completely original in layout which we intend to keep

We had a previous Calypso which had been ripped out and modernised but Emerald will be kept as she is and just given some tlc.

Excellent. I have happy memories of hiring Emerald back in 2006. Back then it still had space heating but I think Pacific did some updates over the years. When I visited in late March I took this photo when she was at Waterside Marine.

We found on the back of the bedroom mirror a lot of comments from people who had hired her and their memories of lovely holidays.

They were called Tim, Jen and Alice and in 2007they had a new pup

They came in 03,07,09,11 then in 2015and then the last time in September 2018

Great to read about their happy times on Emerald

We're hoping to have the same

What a lovely thing to find. Several of us know of a Tim, Jen and Alice family and they did hire from Pacific.

On another currently offline Broads Forum, a fine gentleman called Ronaldo used to post about his trips on the Broads and had a wicked sense of humour. A lovely man I didn't manage to meet up with. Some of his exploits are archived on the Broadland Memories web site under his real name of Ron Harrison. Sadly he passed away in October 2007.

So what is the connection ? Tim was Rons son in law. So Tim if you are still out there come and say Hi. I think I only connected by the other sites private message system so don't know how to contact.
