JennyMorgan
They are about! Since the start of the season I've had one one hundred pound plus haul and last night I pulled ten fish, all around four pounds, out from against a lilly patch, the biggest just topping five pounds. Mind you, I'd rather a good haul of roach but I'm not complaining. I was fishing for roach too, two pound bottoms and size 20's!

When we were moored in Loddon last June, I hooked a nice Bream, and the guy moored next to us estimated it to be around 6 - 7lbs. They certainly are about, so the otters haven't yet had them all. I was fishing with 2lb bottom line and a no 16 hook, with good old sweetcorn as bit.

Judging by her condition she had not long ago spawned, late this year, and I'd fully expected her to top 6 lbs but 5 was still pleasing.
KaptinKev
A few years ago on our last night on one of Herbert Wood's finest, we moored up at the boatyard. The fishing was great and bream was a plenty, but make sure you have some hand towels that you will never use again, and antibacterial hand wash when you are finished!
