petersjoy
Not sure if this is the right place for it, but after passing the bridge twice this week it's not operational due to a technical fault. Can't find any news about it on the BA web site so just a heads up ( no pun intended) if anyone needs an opening.
ranworthbreeze
Hello Paul looking on the Broads Authority website on the 4th of January te following information was posted. Urgent - Somerleyton Swing Bridge non operational We have been informed by Network Rail that due to a structural issue, Somerleyton Swing Bridge is currently non operational pending a visit by a structural engineer. It is likely the bridge will be out of operation for at least a few days. We will share further updates in due course. BroadAmbition
it is likely the bridge will be out of operation for at least a few days. A few days? Maybe they should have state a couple of weeks as it has now been ten days You can bet if it had a fault stopping trains running it would have been sorted pronto Griff

Bytheriver
There were 5 Network Rail & contractor vans at Reedham Bridge earlier in the week. They are on site within an hour or so of a breakdown but takes a while to have any spare parts sourced or made. The overhaul planned for the spring has been delayed due to problem between Network Rail & Greater Anglia over possessions needed ( Info from yesterdays Navigation Committee which can be viewed on Youtube ) Sorry no Info specifically on Somerleyton
