floydraser
Would anyone like to join my new rock group? I was just wondering what effect Eunice is likely to have on the level of the Yare when she passes into the North Sea? Anyone care to guess? I'm thinking it'll either be a great time to look for my phone in the mud near my boat, or not??
Ray
Our local Resilience Group (no, me neither!) feel Eunice will not affect the tidal range to an extent that they expect flooding. Presumably we are on a Spring tide at the moment so my expert guess is about normal for a Spring +/- a bit.
Smoggy
Possible 30mb pressure drop between today and tomorrow so a sea surface rise of up to 300mm over normal but with wind direction maybe holding it out so possibly not much different from normal. Wouldn't want to be on the west coast though. But I'm no hydrologist or meteorologist so probably safer to read your tea leaves.
YnysMon
I see they’ve now issued a red alert for the Bristol Channel. As Carol Kirkwood said this morning, red alerts are like hens teeth, very rare. Hope people on the coast there aren’t too badly affected. 1
