Hello, thank you for accepting me here.  I'm hoping that someone can help me identify two photographs. They were taken on our first Broads holiday back in 2004/5.  At that time we didn't have fancy mobiles that took photos and told us locations and so forth. So we have yet to identify where these two places might be.  The cottages in my photo are similar to those found in Salhouse, coming from Salhouse Broad car park and taking a right turn.  The only thing wrong is the location. When I took the photo,  I was approaching a bend. I was convinced for years it was Somerleyton but of course it isn't.  We have revisited several times since and have many photo's of Somerleyton's stunning thatched cottages.  As for the level crossing I have no idea at all, but it has been bugging both my husband and I for over 15 years.  Any ideas welcome thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum. :default_icon_wave:

I am sure there may well be some thoughts on where these photos are. The second one definitely reminds me of the tree line you see from the river soon before you reach Salhouse when coming from Horning.

Interesting, the railway cottage..

Big enough to require a permanently manned cottage when built, but it appears the road has never been made up into a modern tarmacked  road..

But has a modern stop, look, listen, sign

Thank you Jean, and yes my son is convinced it's Salhouse somewhere due to the trees in the background.

If only my memory wasn't so shady. It could be that the cottage is no longer there but I'm sure someone will know more than I do. I live in hope.
