It's a bit much to object after the thing is built. What do they expect - for it to be torn down after it was built with planning approval? The article does suggest toward the end that not everyone is up in arms about it though. If you just read the headline and the first half you'd think a lot of people were outraged.

It is certainly a statement property.

I would like to see  another material used as well to break up the blackness and define the features.   I would rather see a few unusual new builds rather than the usual bland boxes. Variety is the spice of life.
