The late local news said a man was missing from the Hickling area. His boat has been found and his dog on the land but nothing else.

From the local BBC news this morning it appears that there is a sad end to this tale with a body being recovered from Candle Dyke.

The inquest opening has just been reported by EDP.

I presume with food left on the table, it'll probably go down as either an open verdict or accidental death.

A good reminder, if ever there was one, to wear a lifejacket when doing anything on deck single handed.
