Assuming that Classic Gem 1 is the same type of boat as Classic Gem 2 (possibly a rash assumption) this thread might be helpful.

Many thanks for the information, to the uninitiated it reads like a nightmare, however we are long time boaters both on The Broads and in France so we should be OK, I hope!!!! Famous last words
