High water level

Afternoon All,

 

Just had a look on the Wroxham Bridge web cam and the water level is very high in comparison to what it has been recently. Maybe it's due to this storm that's heading for the UK. I hope everyone has their boats secured and nobody suffers any damage.

Its certainly getting a tad windy here now in Troon, but tomorrows forecast is a lot worse. Batten down the hatches folks, all be over with though in 48 hours, hopefully.

Eric it's been a bit hight for the last week, spoke to Jon at Wayford last week and he said on one day they had a months rain, at our Marina the water is up 6" to 9" above normal,,,

Watched a boat trying to moor at WRC on Sunday and they were being blown all over the place - think today will be twice as windy as Sunday!!

What happened no rain or wind here in Lowestoft, and I put off going to the boat because of the weather warnings,,

Was fierce on the Thurne and lower Bure today.  Intended to go under PH bridge, but abandoned that when the gauge board was reading 5' 6" with an hour to go to high tide.  Headed downriver instead,  Wind gradually picked up during the day and some really strong gusts by mid/ late afternoon.  Hairy stuff - but exciting too!  Yarmouth yacht station is 'closed' overnight 'cos of forecast high tide and strong winds.

Blinking windy on Oulton Broad, Frank! At one time this afternoon a vicious squall hit whipping up the spray off the surface like a sand-storm, amazing!
