Revenge on Shy-Talks?

My son-in-law snapped this near Oulton Broad the other evening. Has someone with military connections finally decided that enough is enough, that his boat cover has been covered in you know what once to often? Mobile launcher or do we have secret silos near Oulton Broad?

I often see them flying over Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft east bound. They have a distinctive kink on the starboard contrail. Could well be USA C5 Galaxy or C17 Globemaster. They would be up at around 35000ft and well clear of the commercial traffic keeping clear of the well defined routes. Some 100 miles out they turn to starboard. Outward or homeward bound they fly directly over the top of my house. Westbound, possibly 100miles from Strumpshaw, Brundall they will turn to port. The other week one had a fighter escort under each wing.

The Galaxy regulary sneeks into Prestwick Airport for refueling before crossing the pond.

Blimey Iain,  the Galaxys used to come into Prestwick back in the mid 70's when I was at Auchincruive. Nice to know that nothing has changed in the last 40 years!

It looks a BIGGER Galaxy now   But, maybe they get a discount off HMS Gannet there, when refuelling!

People don't realise just how big the Galaxy is when they see one airborne.

 

I took this photo at a Newbury airshow over 40 years ago, where the public could walk right through the load bay, in at the front and out of the back.

 

I seem to remember the Loadmaster saying that two buses could pass each other inside !

I think its the new Broads National Park secret weapon against the shyte hawkes the new Dyke to Air missile or DAM for short, it is also rumored that there is another addition to there arsenal The Ballistic 

Linear Air Support Torpedo or BLAST for short

So from now on when people refer to The Norfolk Broads National Park DAM and BLAST we will all know what they are referring to.......
