Hockham Admiral
Ray, Hi Phil at the Yare will let you have a small container of ice if your fridge can't produce enough! We always call in just before we go to the boat to pick some up....... and have a beer!
RayandCarole
Thanks John thats good to know never thought of asking Called in for a couple of pints on the way back from Brian Wards (good excuse) yesterday afternoon. In there for fish and chips last night excellent as usual. Ray & Carole
ranworthbreeze
Hi Ray,Did you have to wait at the level crossing, when we were down last on going into Brian Ward's I got caught out on the way there and the way back.We go into the Yare if we are staying overnight in the marina, we have never had a bad meal in there, the fish & chip is great, just wish they did mushy peas (proper ones not those mushed up garden peas that a few of the other pubs have on offer; yuk)the pizza is ok but I keep making the mistake of a side order of chips and then struggle to eat both, Tan says the pie is to die for and the salads are very good, plenty on the plate and all fresh.Have you been in the new bistro yet? looks pricy with not much on offer personally for me.RegardsAlan
RayandCarole
Hi Alan We are moored in Bells so just a short walk either through Brooms or a path beside the railway track which takes you onto the platform by Brian Wards so dont need to take the car. Not tried the Bistro yet but intend having a look and maybe a try this week if no work on and will report back. Yes agree never had bad meal at the Yare but they do overdose on the chips even if you ask for small portion, have found taking the croquette option instead of chips is a manageable meal.
