Its not what I would regards as a Dumper and I can understand now after reading the story how difficult it was to stop.

There are some huge off road vehicles about, I remember British Steel used Euclids, back in the 80's, to move slag and scrap. The gross weight could be close to 120 tonne. I guess those were a sort of dumper truck too.

Was chatting to some of the traffic police on Wednesday who were involved in the chase (or pursuit? Traffic jam?). Some of the photos they showed us were unbelievable...

That picture of the Volvo in the EDP link - the tyres are burst and the alloy wheels are pushed a good couple of inches into the tarmack.

There was a female officer in the vehicle at the time - was lucky to get out by all accounts (the dumper truck reversed half way over it)
