  1. Was she checking out the latest auto pilot specification David, or just reviewing your lift out work schedule
  2. A year out of date Gordon but a bit of an overview http://www.fishing4fun.co.uk/article.asp?art=127
  3. Horning Marine Covers have an excellent reputation http://www.about-norfolk.com/horningmar ... /index.htm
  4. Ian I do not profess to be an software expert but I moved to Firefox around 18 months ago. It seems more stable and with a few more features than IE. I for one prefer it
  5. Not the Broads but we did come across these guys on our travels. Boy do these ships have some engines in them, they can be heard from miles away.
  6. And ONLY on Breydon Clive Nice shots as ever
  7. I don't know where it is Bruce but what a lovley atmospheric shot.
  8. Not heard that one Paul. Looking at the KL area and the Fens I can't see much that would attract me to 'ditch crawling' this area. On the way home I go over the Ouse Nene & Welland at anything other than HW staring up at muddy banks does not overly appeal to me. Lower reaches need some very careful Navigation with very strong currents and shifting shoals.
  9. Have a look at David's excellent explanation here Jonny viewtopic.php?f=43&t=458
  10. Very comprehensive answer David thank you - I learn more all the time. Steve - to show how part dissolved anodes look see the ones on my rudder; about half gone. If you can get to Hoveton in the week Aquafax do a comprehensive range, much cheaper than normal chandlers -another David tip
  11. Jonny They did open her up over Breydon I couldn't see her but could hear her - lovely
  12. Jonny lift out and Anti Foul courtesy or Goodchilds clean & polish and products courtesy of myself over the last two weekends. All products can be bought from Halfords. If you are able to get to the Broads Mon-Fri Aquafax in Wroxham take some beating for Anodes. To be fair it only took 1.5 days I could have done with a few extra hours on Saturday pm after the sealer but David dangled a prospect of a pint or to in the Fisherman's so off I went. Ian & Liz (Palmtree) arrived and by the time I though about polishing again it was dark
  13. Kiki has just about finished her short lift out. Anti Fouled, new Anodes fitted (supervisions and modifications courtesy of David Antares _9) and hull polish. I am sure there are many product recommendations but here is what I used. I washed her with Halfords wash wax & shine a handle canister system that allow a Hozlock connector hose to be connected. Oxidisation and fender scuffs removed with 3M fibreglass restorer and wax. Two coats of Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine Wax And a final seal with Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection Others may have their own favorites but this has worked for me. See photo of Kiki - spots on Kiki's bow are the reflection of the flash on the polished hull
  14. Broads related as it was leaving Goodchild on Saturday morning to go back home after repairs. It had been in for a thorough overhaul a few months back. After three weeks back on station it was involved in this rescue - see 'events' call 29 below http://www.waltonfrintonlifeboat.co.uk/ Damage to the port side had been repaired ready for trip 'home' Brave lads & lasses. BTW the Motor Sailer in the background of picture two a prior berth holder at Goodchild and a craft we saw on our East Caost trip at Shotley left shortly after the lifeboat having been sold her new owner taking her to Spain.
  15. Whey hey - Kiki has has her faulty electric Jabsco Lavvy replaced with shiny silent (ish) one. SWMBO is pleased with me
  16. Simon, I think Paul is saying he is shooting Raw (which I agree with) and then using a Raw Converter to convert to TIFF or JPEG. Which is the way I shoot with my 10D
  17. Thanks Paul, I had been using an early version of Raw Shooter which was very user friendly. It was bought out by Adobe and was incorporated in Adobe Lightroom - expensive I have a 'cough' copy of Photoshop CS (for evaluation purposes you understand) and I too find it a bit 'overblown' for what I am looking for, there is also no batch conversion option. I am looking at options for Raw Workflow so was interested in what you were using. Could not agree more
  18. I don't envy you one bit Keith Wonders of modern technology indeed. I will have to wait until tonight for my fix. Thanks again
  19. 'Real time' pictures. Looks chilly but very pleasant. Great service! Thanks
  20. Yours are fantastic Paul, I look forward to seeing some more in the future. BTW what is your work flow from Raw? are you using any special Raw converter.
  21. Paul's photo of the Kingfisher reminded me of a talk I went to a few years ago with Andy Rouse a noted wildlife photographer. His dedication was more like being in the SAS but if you want to see superb wildlife photography have a look at some of Andys work. It was obvious that most of these shots were not 'lucky' but the result of hours of research and being in the right place at the right time. Despite Paul's obvious modesty there is little luck in getting photo's of that quality. 22. Thanks Keith, I feel as if I have been on the river today now The liveaboard you mention was certainly there from Easter to early June this year when we were south.
  23. Lovely Paul, The wing and feather formation are very visible. Wonder if Santa will bring me a 5D
  24. Very nice Paul thanks. A big Lens I'm sure Paul will tell you, but I suspect finding their fishing spots and lots of time
