  1. Thank you Alan. Downhill? What about the A66 and the Brough!!! With TWO retired teachers on board I better make sure I keep my spelling mistakes to a minimum when writing my blog then! Iain.
  2. I have a reply but it would require Modding myself! Norty Leo Iain
  3. Hi All, If my calculations are correct, and he is not classified as a stowaway on the boat he was on, the Hockham Admiral shall hopefully be rejoining us all, soon. I hope he has many tales to tell, and lots n lots of nice pics too! After all that time at sea, I suspect his old pins will be a bit wobbly back on terra firma. So I think another day off from Forum work is in order, The Skipper may think otherwise! I have been covering John's duties whilst he has been seeing other places. So very soon I will be having a wee rest also, like what Alan R/B has just had! My countdown has already began, its just ten more sleeps then I shall be heading down to Norfolk, can't wait! Seriously, I hope John and his good lady Mary-Jane had the holiday of a lifetime, and have returned home safe and well. Iain.
  4. Oh next fortnight Timbo, prepare to be mauled by two irate Scots lassies then lol You have been warned! Iain
  5. Hi Alan, Gimme a few minutes till I get my ear tuned to Narfolk, and I will speek with an Norfolk accent if you like boy! Makes mental note, bring reams of A4 paper and a Pen! Just incase! Iain
  6. Whose a clever littlesprite then! Iain
  7. Very good! MAY you have a clear drive down to Brundal. Hopefully no tractors on the A17! Iain.
  8. David Yup and the 5th...6th....all the way to the 15th! Have you got your coat yet? Iain
  9. Hi Geoff, If you read back on a thread somewhere, I did warn you about the central belt accent Geoff. Its really is a one off especially if they come from Falkirk! My mate lives there now, but he is a "weegie" like my wife, a Glaswegian which like me is a westie accent. I can fully understand though why you hadn't a clue what she was saying! Iain
  10. You really should fit more into your hour Smellyloo Iain
  11. Geoff said.... IF I had been over at my sister in laws, and was STILL allowed to drink it would have been the "Four Marys"! lol I have heard of this place, Bridge49 ( a good year 1949 was!) but not frequented it....yet! But we will, glad the food was good, sorry no Black Sheep or other such Yorkshire concoctions available for your pallet.. Iain
  12. Yup, Usually on blind bends on the River Ant!! Grrrrrrrr!!!!!! Iain
  13. Hi Alan, Sounds like the Four Marys has cut back then with hand pull brews if only five. McLays of Alloa use to supply a fair number of the guest real ales there. The annual beer festival at the back of the pub used to be a very good HIC! night out! Soz Geoff, I digressed....I shall await your next update. Iain
  14. Yes Alex agreed, it would be more suitable. Voltage drop on flexibles will also vary pending where the post picks its main power from. I am not a great believer of handing out advice like electrical cables, but as many of you have power to your boats will know as much about the cabling as I do. I must try and glean a bit more about shore power when I am down. 16amp for a boat sounds a good bit of power really, as static caravans are mostly 16amp max loading. Iain.
  15. Hi Captain Dread, 1.5mm is the bare minimum, as long as you dont use a lot of high power applications. Please keep your total loading well under 16amp. 1.5mm should never be connected to 32amp. Please make sure ALL the terminals are tight in the plug in ends, its very important. Iain.
  16. Funny enough, I did like the seperate toilet and shower, especially IF my sister in law or SWMBO was showering and nature called! Then the seperate loo came in VERY handy indeed! Iain
  17. If a younger apprentice was irking me in the work shop I sent him for a jar of pickled eels feet! The fish shop knew what was going on and he was sent down Ayr high street ending up at my fathers friends old butchers shop where they informed him an eel doesn't have feet! Iain
  18. I would say bit of a Shocker really Once you fit the circuit breaker, everything will "Trip"(fall) into place! I'll get my coat! Iain
  19. OK Mark am sorry Err BTW how did they get leaves on the line on the underground? Iain.
  20. Hi Frank, Its great to see all your hard work coming together. So get out on the rivers and enjoy your new boat proper. If you are about in early May give me a wave I am on Broadway 2 Iain
  21. HI folks, It is with deepest regret I have to inform you its wall to wall sun again today. Went down to President Eisenhowers wee holiday pad... Culzean Castle. Well if I am being honest he was gifted a room there. Iain
  22. Hi Mark, Oh the tales I could tell about my early apprenticeship electricain days ...but I wont Iain.
  23. Caught this last night on our way home... Iain
