  1. A clean one as its not in the members only section A man was dining alone in a fancy restaurant and there was a gorgeous brunette sitting at the next table. He had been checking her out since he sat down, but lacked the nerve to talk with her. Suddenly she sneezed, and her glass eye came flying out of its socket towards the man. He reflexively reached out, grabbed it out of the air, and handed it back. 'Oh my, I am so sorry,' the woman said, as she popped her eye back in place. 'Let me buy your dinner to make it up to you.' They enjoyed a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they went to the theatre followed by drinks... They talked, they laughed, she shared her deepest dreams and he shared his. She listened to him with interest. After paying for everything, she asked him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap and stay for breakfast. They had a wonderful, wonderful time.. The next morning, she cooked a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy was amazed. Everything had been so incredible! 'You know,' he said, 'you are the perfect woman.. Are you this nice to every guy you meet?' 'No,' she replies. . .. 'You just happened to catch my eye.' Ray

  4. Ah but the new tiles were slightly smaller than the originals Ray
  5. Well due to Caroles arferitis decided to get the bath removed and a full length shower installed, being of stingy norfolk blood didnt fancy replacing all tiles above original bath line with new ones. So ordered replacements in a contrasting colour, so far so good. Fitter arrives ah new tiles are metric, old tiles are imperial, so grout lines wont line-up. So got some nice mosaic border tiles to blend in the old with the new so far looks ok, so many grout lines on border tiles hopefully no one will notice nothing is ever easy Ray & Carole
  6. Thanks Iain, the writing has been on the wall for a while boss has done his best to keep me on but at the end of the day cannot maintain my position if I am not generating any income, at least three months paid notice gives us breathing space to decide what we do next Ray & Carole
  7. Spotted Lightning passing through Brundall today gave them a wave and got one back, Tangara moved back to Bells yesterday looking a bit cleaner and new LED navlights fitted, engine serviced etc ready for the season. Picked up the Volvo V40 this week (see other thread ) will miss the BMW but needs must and so far very happy with the Volvo. Last day of holiday so off back to Holt tomorrow and then job seeking as given three months notice yesterday due to the downturn in the oil industry and not enough work to support my position, not all bad though no financial millstones so if no jobs on offer will take early retirement. Ray & Carole
  8. Well last check of the moorings before the blow arrives in its fury, no work today, car hunting as my other post, did prepare a nice omelette for supper with oven chips and corn on the cob Ray & Carole
  9. Yes Alan the Juke in my eyes is pug ugly, thank goodness was no good for Carole, looking at a just under 2 year old V40 next week, will miss the BMW though but no good it just festering in the drive, needs must Ray
  10. Well tried out the V40 and she found it much easier to get in and out of than her suzuki, also tried Nissan Juke and Qashqai but the height made it difficult to get in and out like the suzi, so looks like a V40 it will be, V70 and XC90 were too big Ray & Carole
  11. Thanks for the replies and suggestions, will give the kilts and jock sock a body swerve I think. Will check out the V40 if that not suitable will try some of the other suggestions. Ray
  12. Evening all due to Caroles continuing infirmity it seems we will need to sell on the much loved BMW Z4 coupe as she can no longer get in. Looking at possibly a Volvo V 40 cross country, planning on having a look tomorrow to see if easy for Carole to get in and out, anybody out there any experience or comments would be much appreciated Ray

  19. Well Grace, arrived here Saturday afternoon, Sunday was chill day, today recommission engine, take off winter mooring lines and fit normal lines, move boat from Bells to the cottage, a few little jobbies inside this afternoon, and fitted the NBN BURGEE (top priority) so not a wasted day tomorrow Cromer hospital for Caroles gastro consultant, Wednesday boat work all day apart from conferance call with boss in afternoon Thursday Caroles appointment with rheumatology consultant at NNUH and now son is threatening to visit over easter with new grandson so seems its going to be a bit of a struggle getting the jobs done, any way we are here for 2 weeks so fingers crossed. at least Carole managed to get out and help me moor up Ray & Carole
  20. Well after a dull drab day in Brundall as soon as the sun goes down the clouds disappear and it turns into a lovely but cool evening. A very dirty Tangara at the cottage mooring looking very small at low tide, cleaning starts tomorrow Ray & Carole
  21. Thanks for that I am fine, Carole much better apart from the arthritis which means she cannot get on the boat at the moment hence the reason for the riverside holiday rental. She iscseeing specialist next week who can hopefully improve things for her, meanwhile I can get those little jobs done on the boat. Ray and Carole
