  1. More River at Wroxham island closed The stretch of river around Wroxham island has been closed while investigations into an incident take place. 2. June 2016 Police were called to attend a boat on Wroxham Broad at 4pm this afternoon, Thursday 9 June 2016 following concerns for safety due to the length of time the vessel had been moored in that location. On attendance officers found two people and a dog deceased within the boat moored near Wroxham Island. A seal has been put in place around the area whilst officers from Great Yarmouth CID determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths. Due to the early stages of police enquiries, the deaths are being treated as unexplained at this time. Any further updates will be issued proactively. Ray
  3. Had the same thing here in Holt, very good fishmonger we have patronised for years, he decided to retire and quite rightly too, taken over by new owners, grumpy lady serving, no real advice on the fish you are buying, no offer to properly prepare your fish, sorry no more of my custom, but thankfully still a few good providers around here, but not telling Ray & Carole
  4. Guess you could be right, I always buy my seafood from the local suppliers in North Norfolk, I havnt tried salmon for a while so may well see where it is sourced from and give it another try Ray & Carole
  5. Yes Iain its strange I used to love salmon but now the mere taste of it makes me gag, but smoked is completely different love it most peculiar Ray & Carole
  6. Quite agree we use the Holt chippie and we have found by trial and error that a small portion of cod and a small portion of chips shared between us is more than enough for the two of us I suspect they ladle on lashings of chips for those porky northerners on holiday Ray & Carole
  7. Not a chippie but we have always enjoyed the fish and chips at the Yare in Brundall and never been disappointed, only complaint is too many chips so Carole usually has chips and I have the potato croquettes and swap and share, sorted Ray & Carole
  8. We used to call him Father Valentine when kids Ray & Carole

  11. Actually its nof that hot the honey seems to take the heat out even though we put in quite a lot of chilli powder, cayenne and curry powder its just the blooming smell afterwards, and also flatulance can be a bit fruity, central heating under the duvet Ray
  12. Easy one wok meal thinly slice pork fillet, marinade in groundnut oil, light soy sauce, cumin, medium curry powder, hot chilli powder, pinch of salt, garlic, cayenne pepper and honey then marinade for 12 hours. Flash fry pork in wok, add sliced spring onions and sliced red pepper, cook through, serve with warm tortilla wraps. Tastes great, downside takes about 2 days to get rid of the cooking smells but worth it Ray & Carole

  16. Well not our own recipe but seems good all the same. Well Carole decided she wanted a ride out as the arfuritis not to bad and a change of scenery, so quick trawl of the internet cheapest gordons gin, gaytrose north walsham £17 A litre. So off we trot in the trusty V40. Carole manages to have a hobble round and found some reduced ( sell by today) Lasagna Rotoli Bit like a Lasagna Swiss roll reduced from £5.99 to £2.95, worth a punt methinks actually turned out really nice with an added good covering of parmiggiano, Caroles hates that, and a few chips good evening meal, easy to do on the boat me thinks worth a try Ray & Carole
