  1. I would think one of the best chances of a decent brewery tour are at Reedham  at the Humpty Dumpty Brewery. No bad thing to stick to the south. there are some of the better pubs. There is also the Woodfords Brewery up North. Quieter on the South as well..

  2. I am far from convinced that holidays in September will actually go ahead. I totally agree with Andy"s analysis of this situation and the creeping increase in figures in the UK and the important "R" number being back to 1 suggest that the next spike is going to be unavoidable. This is backed up by what is happening in Spain, France and Germany who were all better organised than us at the beginning. I take no pleasure at all in saying this and am still greatly worried.

Blood tests,my last one or should  I say ones. They had trouble  getting blood out.Okay I'll say it can't get blood out of a stone. Hope yours went better then mine.

The first one was taken easily enough. Because I'm still a bit wobbly, the phlebotomist came today. Failed in my usual arm but managed in the other. Fingers very crossed now for the results!!

  4. New problem and experience for me!

New problem and experience for me! On Friday I was asked by my GP to have a full set of bloods done. Here is where Ian may well sympathise being he is a similar COPD sufferer Like myself. In the evening I recieved another call, please take yourself to hospital asap! I'm now very rattled! Ambulance called as well. It was shock to me to find myself in a bed on the  Coronary care unit.

Seems my blood results were all wonky and in a worrying way! After a couple of days, I was much better, was raise electrto lights! Had a clear ECG but was sproutin three infusions. This seemed to take forever to go, but I did begin to feel better. Failed to address the actual issue I was admitted for. The usual breathless episodes always a bother.

I was discharged the next day with the advice, they needed to give!  me a very large dose though. I also expeienced a spontaneous need tp pee! Not good at the best of times Not interested a not there field. For others to sort. gave me a lomg list of new medication, but, again, none for my existing condition.

Also received another phone call from a much better GP! My other issue was COPD, Again, not an interest to them. hmm,

  5. I, for one, remain totally convinced we need a national and independent TV broadcaster. Yes, there are valid questions and criticisms of both policy and progamming but, overall, we still see many examples of excellent drama productions, some really good journalism (rarer I'll admit) and a recorded resource such as iplayer. I don't resent the licence fee at all and willingly pay this and fervently hope the BBC survives and actually regains some of its independence and fearless reporting!

They did a marvelous Chess and onion roll.. 6 inch diameter roll, 1/2 thick slice of cheese, 1/2 inch slice of onion. Good strong flavoured cheese and a onion that didn't bite back..

Bet the rooks and knights were crunchy!!

  7. Just to be clear, I was referring to our trip up there last September and, yes, Peter, it was Martham's "Juliette" and, yes, I did have to reverse the length of the dyke to leave. Having said that, I have had Martham boats before and they tend to steer very steadily in reverse at a slow pace. I've "shown off" at a few moorings in th past on a Martham boat seemingly getting her into impossible moorings.  I got rounds of applause at both Ranworth , into the end  side mooring, and reversing the length  of Neatishead Dyke. They do handle superbly. This year we are sticking south and going out on "Pacific Diamond".
