  1. Now that looks familiar Robert !!! Claire got this one from the weekend :-
  2. I even saw Col banging away in his boat trying to refix the crotch strap back on !! (Now that could be read in completely the wrong way !! lol ) I have said thank you on one of the other threads to John and Paul, but its easily lost considering how many posts there have been, so thank you again guys, the demo was presented in a light-hearted way which I always think makes stuff 'sink' in (another bad pun, sorry !)
  3. Or perhaps "Window Lickers R Us" !!
  4. Trev, Andy, Ian and Wayne - all sent. Adam, I already have your address, so it was sent this morning !
  5. This isn't going to go away anytime soon is it !!! Anyway, great to meet you guys Robert and to be honest, we wern't on the losing team, I just suggested to "Julie" that we let the other team win otherwise there might have been tears !! lol !!! PLUS there is a rumor we had a mole in our team, Wayne has already noted that a member of 'our' team gave them an answer that they wouldn't of got !! lolololol !!!!! (it was probably me and the vodka !!) Glad to see you made it properly on the site, take a couple of minutes to do an intro so everyone else will know who you are when passing ! See you again soon ! Luke & Claire xx
  6. Johnathon, Mark and Adam, your disc is on its way. If anyone else wants a copy just send me your address by PM and I'll post you a disc. There is just too many photos to email or put up on the/a site anywhere but its no problem to post out if you want a copy.. Luke
  7. Hi John Yep, it was all very safe ! Everybody I saw actually wore their life-jackets on the river back to WRC so the points definetly hit home !! Thanks for Friday afternoon and evening again, it was a very interesting talk, although I do wonder if it was planned that I got the demo jacket with a hole in it - trying to say something ? Although an extremely serious talk it was put and taken in humour which I feel always makes learning and understanding easier. Please pass on my thanks to Paul as well.
  8. Hi Mark, I can't answer your questions about the different charts, but if I was to replace my chart plotter I would definetly go for the larger screen if budget allowed.
  9. What a brilliant weekend, thank you all for making it so 'Special' !! Here's a few more pictures, if anyone would like a copy of ALL our pictures from the weekend frolics at sea, send me an pm and I'll pop one in the post.. These were all took by Claire while hanging on to various bits of Relentless, sometimes upside down !! Hope you like them !
  10. Just a quick taster of some of the photo's to come:- No more till I get back, gotta go now, they have just put out the Easter Eggs for the hunt and I've been watching were they have hid them !! lol !!! All having a great time...
  11. First of all, before I forget - Why are people so tired on the 1st April ?? Because they've had a long March !!! lol !!! Anywayyyyyyy.... Tomorrow morning, Friday, we are picking up a couple of friends at The Whery Hotel in Oulton Broad at 11am then popping up to Waveney River Centre for a late breakfast and perhaps a swim (dunk in the hot tub for me obviously), so if anyone would like to join us (breakfast, not hot-tub, I'm not kinky..) then you are more than welcome. Watch out though, they tend to put drawing pins on the cafe seats then wait for you to sit on them while holding a camera... hense the silly picture (and I'm sticking to that story !) Reckon we will be at WRC about 11.30am ish.
  12. Yes it was Ian, and it was me that asked Mark by PM to edit the post to reflect that... Actually I asked Mark to completely delete the thread just in case some one actually used it, but Mark quite rightly pointed out that there is other good information on the thread so edited my post in big red letters to make sure everybody understood. Sorry for any confusement here, totally my fault.
  13. Hey Ian, I need to eat every day !!!! Put me down for a couple, probably another one too....
  14. I think there may well be a race under the bridge !!
  15. I've just had another thought !!! sorry !!!! As there is so many of us, do you think we could get a little tour of the RNLI while at RNSYC ? Would be interesting to see what goes on there (I presume) and as there's over 20 of us I reckon they would appreciate us taking an interest if you know what I mean - they might even like to give us a talk ? What do you think ? If we all chip in a couple of quid I would of thought they would be up for it ?
  16. LOL ! No, Jonathon, all I ever did was go out of Lowestoft and keep going in pretty much the same direction until we hit some land !! I think this is another one of our reasons for looking forward to this weekend, as we have never done coastal stuff, just out - and keep going !
  17. No !! AND certainly not to the extent for others to follow !! The waypoints I set was just a practice really to see if the new software I bought to use on my PC works properly when transfered to the chartplotter and also to see expected fuel usage, hense why I have done one just around OB to make sure it works for tomorrow. I haven't even as yet got an offshore chart (ordered, and should be here tomorrow) so please please, no-one take what I've put down and use it without studying and satisfying yourself that you are happy with it (I wouldn't be, it only took me two minutes !!) In answer to your question Mark, I also was taught to map (chart) plan on paper your route, then transfer it to the plotter.
  18. Ok, I'll give up on that idea and bunk in your spare bunk !! lol !! Really looking forward to this now - just hope the sea is relatively calm for our 'race-off' * If it gets too cold I'm walking home !! lol !! (all 500 yards of it !) * Couldn't put this on any other forum - I'd be shot to pieces with the safety brigade !! lol !!
  19. My plan is to get you rather drunk on Friday or Saturday night then politely ask you to fit heating on mine (and get you to sign a contract while in your drunken state !! lol !!) Gin, scotch or brandy Mark ?
  20. Especially if you have auto steer turned on !! lol !!!
  21. In my experience from years ago on the F33 going to Holland, I always always used physical objects for the route Mark - two reasons, 1) so I knew exactly where I was and 2) to make sure the nav kit was working properly !! You are absolutely right, always use what you can for your route - the only reason I didn't on that one was its local and always within sight of land (and I know where I am around here !) I have done another route which covers the area just outside my house to make sure everything lines up ok and if I get a chance will test it tomorrow...
  22. By the way, is there any chance of getting electric at OB and RNSYC ? I have a 25m lead, but I don't have a splitter if needed... With no heating on board, its going to be bloody cold otherwise !
