  1. Dear old Parge, I can do you a dessert, an Eton Mess with a difference. Meringue, strawberry's, cream and other ripe seasonal berries such as raspberry's and cherry's. Mix all together and then garnish with cucumber and beetroot

I still have no clue as to why my kids won't eat it :default_biggrin:

  2. The Wayford Bridge Inn do an excellent breakfast and a Sunday roast to die for.

Not a Farmers Market but you also have Meales garden centre which is more than just a garden centre and the cafe there is very good too

Cook your own on board, how delightful is the smell of bacon wafting from a boat as you walk past.

I have found over the years if the family vote on dining in or out, they normally opt for out :default_biggrin:

  3. I have admired and always will admire the people that worked through it all, NHS staff obviously but the lorry drivers and delivery people etc etc who worked through the night too just so there was food on the shelves ( They forgot the toilet rolls though :default_biggrin:) The other side of the coin, the people who were totally alone and cut off from society, the loneliness and isolation they must have felt. How we will never get those lost years back. The dreadful situations where people died alone because loved ones couldn't be there to hold their hand, an absolute tragedy

It gave me a sense of perspective, how lucky I was and am to have my family and friends, who, thankfully survived it where so many didn't

And as for people crossing the road to avoid walking past the Boss, don't they know he has a fleet of boats :default_biggrin:

  4. I think it was all so new, so rare, unprecedented and so bloody cruel. No one really knew what to do. The decision makers made their decisions to the best of their ability at the time. I don't blame anyone. What I did find so deplorable was the powers that be decided our lives for us, gave us rules and locked us down but didn't follow those rules themselves. That wasn't right

I don't mean to get political, it's not allowed and that's not what this thread is about.

I can't believe it's been 4 years already. Let's just hope lessons have been learned and it never happens again

It's the same colour as the back but pointier.  (Does that help?)

I don't think it will help Smogs. After a few beers in the pub Neil won't know or care which end of the boat is which :default_biggrin:

Good morning Gracie. Just been looking at the Bath Peregrines nest box and it has its first egg this morning. Some activity in the Norwich nesting box but no eggs yet. Can you let Charlie know. He might like to follow it.

That's very kind of you Graham, thank you. Charlie is taking a look as we speak

  7. I don't mind children or dogs in a pub as long as they are well behaved and respectful of other pub goers. I've seen bad behaviour in a couple of pubs, it's adults rather than children and dogs that have caused a problem

It's my view that some children and pets are better behaved than some adults propping up the bar having a skinful

  8. I just wish both fishing and boating camps could get along, respect each other for being on or near the water and just get on with it. There's always people who will do anything they can to make a situation worse than it really has to be.

I think Norfolkangler, you are a very reasonable fishermen who respects and abides by the rules, your last post sums that up completely. Once the fishing season starts up again, I am looking forward to reading about your days on the rivers and the fish you catch

So very true. Do you know I have executed the best damn mooring you will have ever seen when no one is watching.

Executed being the correct turn of phrase :default_biggrin:

  11. I agree with M&P I've bought some nice meat to burn from there :default_biggrin: Also there is the pet centre and tackle shop, always so helpful and friendly staff too. The the fish and chip shop and the fried chicken next door run by the same people I believe, it's lovely, the chicken is better than KFC.

I was sad to read this article, we have visited and shopped there most years when coming to pick up the boat, even when we haven't hired from Richardson's we still paid the town a visit.

I wouldn't mind living there for sure.

  12. The best boats we have hired would have to be the Major Gems from Richardson's. We've hired 1 and 2, they are such good value for money, the space on them is excellent. If my numbers come up I would buy one of these like a shot

    Sorry for the slight drift
