  1. I couldn't agree more!!!! It has never looked inviting, or a place I would enjoy my surroundings, even though it's next to the river.
  2. I used to commonly see something similar on all the American Sport Cruisers, but not attached to the heads door! The straps would also let the camper cover convert into a Bimini cover for sun shade.
  3. Very jealous, it is my dream to have our own boat on the broads. Enjoy!!!!!
  4. Having done my RYA powerboat level 2, twice! I would highly recommend.
  5. Very, very, envious! Would love to have been on the broads this weekend, even in the rain... still the best place on earth come rain or shine.
  6. I keep seeing great reviews of this pub now it’s under new management and had it’s refurbishment. We visited when they first opened last year, but weren’t yet doing food. It is top of our list to visit next month when we are back on the broads! I wonder if it will knock its sister pub The White Horse from its top spot as our favourite pub on the broads....
  7. I agree with Simon, I think it boils down to how risk adverse you are as an individual.
  8. No idea either why Robin can’t have keys and collect the boat. Some vendors do ‘want’ the funds in their account rather than the brokers ‘client account’ before the boat leaves. But this actually isn’t a requirement, as the brokers are his acting as the vendors agents. So it seems like nothing should prevent Robin being able to take the boat?
  9. Unless the broker is actually a dealer not a broker, then the Bill of Sale will be from the previous owner straight into robins name. Robin has done a transfer though hasn’t he? It still won’t have show or be cleared until a weekday. The Bill of Sale might take time for the vendor to sign and return, but no idea why the Brokers can’t release the keys, so Robin can move the and forward the title documents on later.
  10. “ Appears to be...” can be a very useful phrase. Brokers should only really comment on cosmetic condition. They can list the information supplied by the vendor of maintenance and serviceing that has been carried out. They do have to be careful of misrepresentation. A declaration of seaworthyness is not appropriate for a broker. Even if they also happen to be qualified surveyor, as then they would have a conflict of interests. Having said that there are reputable and un-reputable brokers, as in any profession.
  11. No reputable broker would/should make any statements as to the structural or mechanical condition of a boat. Statements like this could land them in hot water! Rather they would/ should advise you have a survey/ engine inspection/ sea trial to ensure you are completely happy with the boat pre purchase . (Or not, if you are happy with your own capabilities of assessing the condition).
  12. As it was a Saturday the brokers may have needed to wait until Monday morning for the bank/accounts department to confirm they have your funds cleared into their account, before they release the keys and title documents. Hopefully all will be fine.
  13. 11 years as a yacht broker, having boats surveyed and reading survey reports every day , and osmosis certainly wouldn’t stop me buying an otherwise well cared for boat! Needs to be reflected in the price though. Fingers crossed for you on the re negotiation.
  14. It must have been an incredibly hard decision to come to, especially as it’s the home leg. I think it shows the absolute trust he has in such an experienced crew, and huge strength of caracter to admit his own limitations.
  15. Good decision. Thank you for sharing this with us, really feels like we are there too.
  16. Dorset and Poole are perfect, apart from them being a 4 hour drive from the Broads!!! Yes second that, well done to all the crew, and good luck for tomorrow’s adventure.
  17. Fantastic! Welcome to Dorset! I was hoping you would choose to come into Poole rather than Weymouth, so I could welcome you in person, and thank you for years of entertainment and for providing my broads 'Fix' the 11 months of the year I'm not there.
