  1. The Lodge food was quite good and the people  who ran it very welcoming. It actually is a pleasant 30 mins walk from Salhouse broad car park, not too much traffic goes down the road most of the time.

  2. Salhouse lodge has been bought by Colchester inns.
Looking forward to next year to have decent pub food in the village although a bit of a walk from anywhere .

The Bell inn I believe has also been sold.

Both places are ready for a good updating.

  3. Most of the Westwood  boats were built in Doncaster using the Aquafibre hulls. It's only in the last 10 years production was set up in Northern Ireland when i belive someone bought the name as the guys at Doncaster were stopping production mainly as they couldn't get some of the moulds any more and it wasn't a good time to sell boats around 2010, they are very well built boats.

I do find it strange that people don't find the service / food that bad that they don't raise it with the manager yet they feel strongly enough to raise it here.

Direct customer feedback always helps any business, social media complaints don't and in a lot of cases do damage.

Surely it is better to ask directly why the problem is happening.

Complaint raised to management the last time we visited the white horse but my email was ignored! Not been since.

26 degrees last night and spent a night of fitful sleep until 7.30 when my neighbour let his large, loud and highly reactive labrador retrievers out into his garden to bark.  Why anyone with no interest whatsoever in shooting, and living cheek by jowl with others on a  housing estate would want to own animals like that, I will never understand.

Must be a pain living next to them but hate this terminology for badly trained  dogs (highly reactive!). We have had 5 Labradors and not one of them has been a barker. Not into shooting either but they make just the best companions and wouldn’t be without one.

  7. Not recommended walking down the main road to Stalham, there is a nice walk that runs  in the middle of field between the road and the hotel which then leads to a path through the trees turn left eventually brings you out at Richadsons which from memory would be around 25mins , a bit of detour but worth it.
