  1. Having had both set ups I wouldn’t swap back to the manual type after having a vetus electric one. If used properly they shouldn’t use that much more water than manual ones (eco for small jobs, normal for big jobs and an empty the bowl without flush option)

I can’t see how you could fill a tank in 2 days unless the tank hadn’t been emptied properly or more likely an over sensitive gauge. Also would be interesting to see how big the tanks are on that boat.

  2. Glad you are home Carole and went well, mine was done and dusted for 9.30am and I was home for 10!

Now hopefully I can move the boat from Horning to Brundall on Saturday with a bit of assistance to her new mooring before Clive unties my ropes 😂

Yesterday - not the best day I've had by a long chalk. Had to attend hospital for a  pre op' assessment. Well, I knew what I was there for which was just as well because nobody else seemed to be as well informed! On registering my dismay I was assurred that that the section of the hospital that will be dealing with my surgery is infinitely better  orgaanised than the general  building.  Oh I do hope so .  even worse,  no wine! not until next Tuesday! Now that's downright unfair.  That,  together with 6 weeks of wearing compression stockings  - not to be  remotely confused with suspenders and fishnets promises no fun on my horizon.  Having had a covid swab yesterday and  as a result having to isolate till my 'op on Monday I'll have to cancel all thoughts of going out to a disco tonight too.

Happy op Carole hope all goes well as also an eye op day for me on Monday no compression stockings thank god just a patch for a short while 👍

Forty five years ago today. An extremely good looking young man of just 16 years and nearly 2 months old arrived at the main gates of HMS Raleigh. That was the start of my Royal Naval career. Twenty four years and twelve days before they retired me. Without doubt the best years of my life

Dear Charlie I will pass your words of wisdom (apart from the extremely good looking young man bit as we know that’s exagerating a little) on to son no 1 who is on the QE carrier in Singapore not allowed off the ship once again with some extremely fed up ships crew

  6. Good information this as I have the same problem with a smelly waste tank vent when half full . (The boat didn’t have a vent when manufactured  don’t know why ? Is it really needed ? which was only 10 years ago but was picked up on survey when we bought her 6 years ago so as it was an nya stock boat done without any bother ).
I don’t think it has any inline filters so will address this as well. It is also a big tank 220lts so extra blue bought yesterday. When we have a pump out it takes quite a while and we get looks a bit like the McDonald’s adverts believe in getting your money’s worth!
Because we use the boat for odd days rather than full weeks it’s not pumped out every week like others may do which doesn’t help.

We are also moored just down from you in the same marina Paul so it will be getting a smelly reputation😂

I think the same may be true for truck drivers and the facilities found in this country for them.  I’ve driven in France, Holland, Germany and Belgium and the facilities for drivers over there are fantastic.  Far better than the expensive motorway service areas over here.  Little wonder that drivers are leaving the profession.

Boris is hoping that wages and conditions improve.  The wages might, but facilities in this greed driven society where profits matter most, are likely to remain more suitable for cattle than professional drivers.

Don’t understand why you have to turn a perfectly good post about what we are likely to be doing in 2022 for holidays into another political conversation ! Its getting boring.
