Lovely to read that there are more holiday visits and tales to come.

Ouch! Hope you’re soon on the mend and able to enjoy your holiday. 🤗

After shopping at Tesco in Sprowston we fancied making the most of a beautiful morning. Popped to Ranworth. Had a very nice scone and coffee at the Granary coffee shop on the Staithe watching the boats coming in.
Had a chance to say hello to Simon(CambridgeCabby), Kate, and Bramble. Lovely to meet you. Hope you have a lovely weekend. 🤗

Very much enjoyed reading your posts here Robin. Sounds wonderfully relaxing. Just how a Broads visit should be. We rarely plan our days now if we’re afloat apart from needing to be in the right place on the last night before heading back to the yard. Familiarity has bred that ability to drift from place to place.
I agree about those folk filming from the riverbank. I haven’t made many of my little videos for a while but it’s a rule of mine not to show that kind of footage. Or to be zoomed in on people. But other vloggers seem to think we’re all fair game whatever we’re doing. And I don’t care for that either.

No one has mentioned Flavours in Horning! Hours a bit haphazard but gaining a reputation for being a bit different
Liz do you know where you can park to visit Flavours please? Can you use Ferry Marina’s car park?

I'd be interested to know a bit more about Bridge Restaurant at Wroxham. When we were last there in 2021 it was called The Liberty and we enjoyed it. Has it changed much (apart from renaming to the most unimaginative name I could think of)?
I’m not sure why they changed the name unless they thought that Liberty wasn’t the right image in the end. After all it’s not American food and maybe that’s what the name implies. Did it change hands at some point?
I thought they retained Liberty for the upstairs events area. But there’s no indication of that on their website.

Latest update on the Highways Agency website indicates the removal of the roadworks in the next couple of weeks with a few overnight closures in September. Great news.

Ok, that's 19 recommendations so far ... how long have you got?!
If you're staying for 7 days and you want breakfast, lunch, and dinner out you need two more ... how about the Fur and Feather at Salhouse and the Staithe and Willow at Horning ...
I'm sure someone will be along with a few more in a minute ...

Enjoying your write up Kate, and love seeing your photos. :)

I have a feeling that this thread will turn into a list of almost every eatery on the northern Broads. Most places are someone’s favourite.

Hotel Wroxham and The Bridge Restaurant, Wroxham.
Plus always worth buying from the Monzu Pizza Van if you happen to be in the same place one evening.

I agree that Richardson’s are the one you can usually trust that the price you pay won’t be discounted. Most of the other yards seem to put offers out. Although I’m not sure what Horning Pleasure Craft do. But I do see the offers from Barnes, HW, and Ferry Marina regularly on Facebook.

Another report of a fire on a boat … this time someone’s luxury yacht in the Med.

If anyone is in the Hoveton and Wroxham area between the 17th and 20th August, looking for something to occupy their children, then this might be of interest.
The village hall is an easy ten minute walk from the moorings. Guessing this may be subject to the weather conditions though. There have been a number of events cancelled because of wind and rain this summer.

I’ve discovered this channel and am part way through watching them too. Arabella looks a great boat and would allow us to hire on the south.
Interesting to see their video also from Hexham and Corbridge. They stayed on the same site as we did this year and visited some of the same places.

Lovely to read your write up. Thank you for sharing it. Four nights always goes so quickly with so many places to visit and to moor. Great that you’ll be back.

There were some amazing sunset colours and skies this evening. Lovely photo Sam. Enjoy your weekend.

It certainly is a very windy day. I feel like I should go for a walk but I’m struggling to work up any enthusiasm! 🤭

Really enjoyed your tale. I’m seriously considering a trip on the southern Broads for next year. I think the ability to get moored at Ranworth if you time it right will be a benefit of the new charges.

I've seen some of those pretty butterflies this week in our garden. I don't recall ever seeing them here before.

Looks like most of the ones in your photo of those not on hire are the ones they bought in second hand. As for those Ideal 45s ... some of those have been up for sale for a while haven't they.
I know that NBD's yard has looked as if they have more boats out this week. It's been other yard's boats that have lined the car park.

you can venture South and enjoy the Breydon journey
Strangely enough I was watching another vlog this morning that was someone crossing Breydon. Really not sure I will ever want to do that. I don’t even like Barton Broad. But perhaps the channel is less confusing on Breydon. Just need to remember not to head for the North Sea!!

Oh my goodness Kate. The Brownie Guide Promise. That takes me back to being a pixie and then a gnome. If any of that comes up in Nik’s questions then I’m claiming Biker points for you and me.

Love your photos. I’ve been watching a vlog on the southern rivers and thinking that I really must get back there. Problem is I want to hire on the south rather than bother crossing Breydon. That would just be additional expense for a 10 or 11 day hire from the north so as to have a week on the south. Problem is there’s nothing that suits us from Pacific so it might have to be Brooms.
Keep showing us your photos and that will do me for now.

Good job you spotted that Ian. It’s all too easy to not pay attention with cashless payments. I bought 3 nectarines in Roys a couple of weeks back. The cashier laughed when she realised she had entered 300. 😂
