March is such a great time to be out. And it will soon come round now we’re into October.

We were at Ranworth on Friday and saw them setting up the marquee. Wondered what was going on. That would explain it.

Those sights are so familiar to me now. Haven’t had the best weather for people watching by the river this year … Maybe next summer. 🤔

Wow! Beautiful photos. 😎

Hope to see as many Friday Friends as possible in the new chatroom - http://www.nbnchat.com/chat

Oh Helen, that’s a shame. But if you get any Fridays when you’re not at the band please do give it a try. You would always be welcome.

Hope the sunshine helps to lift your spirits. Love to you and Marina. x

I’ll echo that … a big thank you to Arthur for the chat room.
And a big thank you to Bern for the quiz. It was great fun with the Friday Friends.
Thinking cap on for next week’s questions. 🤔

Always enjoy reading your tales David. Lovely photos too. We have only ever had a September holiday on the Broads once. We hit the jackpot with the weather that year and it was one of the busiest times we’ve ever seen.
For anyone who watches my YouTube channel that was September 2016 on Moon Beam hired from Horizon Craft in their last season.

I’m so glad you’ve managed to moor at North Cove. I’ve only spent one night there but it stands out as one of the best moorings ever. Beautiful part of the river. It’s where I first heard cuckoos the year we were there, probably a June visit.

Lovely reading your tale Kate. I love Somerleyton Gardens having been there a couple of times.
I have no real inclination to want to cross Breydon but we haven’t done the southern rivers for over 8 years now. Just not been any boats based down there that we want to hire. I’m still so glad that our first Broads hire was from Brundall in the Swancraft days. And before I joined much social media. It meant that I didn’t read any stories about the tides and the rivers to put me off. The north is beautiful and probably mostly more sedate. But I hope you get down the Waveney to Beccles as that’s my favourite stretch of river. Although Brundall to Bramerton is very special too.

33 minutes ago, Dan said:
the odd times high craft (like Siesta etc) and high tides make it harder I think it has been known that a team of people turn up and weigh it down or take it through for you
I have watched them do this at Wroxham Bridge with boats stuck on the Coltishall side. Quite an operation.

Unusually for us we have a few days next month when we could get in a midweek break somewhere but we’re not particularly bothered whether we do or not. Now if Ferry Marina come up with last minute discounts then that might be a different matter … 🤔

I contacted Richardson’s who advised the air draft as 8’6. Much as I could be tempted to hire this one next month I think it could be four days of cruising the Ant which I could easily do but it might feel a little restrictive. Low tide is at non cruising times of day.

Enjoying your holiday tale. The Island may not offer any facilities but if we don’t need them then we prefer it to playing sardines on the Staithe. And it’s often been our back up plan when other moorings are busy. Love it there.

Shame about all the shenanigans to get to a sensible answer.

Back to the OP’s question, was everyone ok? Was this a boat out on hire?

Good or bad, and I'm keeping my thoughts to myself on this one, as both a hirer and a resident ... here's a snapshot of where we all love to be ... out on the river. There hasn't been too much opportunity to be out with my camera this year so it's really short ... but please like and subscribe if you want to keep up with my occasional releases.

I find the noise irritating and intrusive sometimes. But there’s no denying that the footage can be really interesting.

Looks like you’re getting some great moorings.
