We have to have cards, spent many a time playing them waiting to get under Ludham Bridge in various hire boats - still got the old score sheets as a reminder of who was with us

We used to have a "boat box" - Mallet for any wild / broken mooring, good pair boat shoes, torch . Small first aid kit/ emergency sewing kit, broads map, matches/ gas lighter, basic condiments - pepper mill an essential for us! - door mat and chairs to sit out on the bank on a sunny day and watch the world go by.

Not entirely a screw loose! Almost, as we took the plunge and bought one! I've made bad menu choices but not really had a bad meal and I agree with your sentiments because as long as I'm not cooking and on the water I don't really care.

I love boating but eating out is always a risk, I've made some bad menu choices and looked enviously at what everyone else had and wish I chosen theirs! My favourite meal so far on The Broads was at the White Horse at Neatished, a nostalgic choice of liver and onions and I relished every morsel.

I would simply say, don't ban them all -just learn to control the few. Everyone is usually on a well earned holiday and a blanket ban just pushes the potential problem elsewhere. There's good and bad in all of us, of any age and gender, given the right triggers.

It seems we all have different views according to our various individual experiences and taste buds. The good thing is Oulton offers a variety of venues depending on your needs for the day.

Thank you both for the welcome, we are getting used to her (Cerise Lady ) , it still seems a little surreal that we actually own her after over 14 years of hiring and someone else hasn't cleaned/ polished/filled up with diesel and water before we go back on the water again!!
