  1. Unfortunately not anymore Grace, I don't have the time/ patience, but I did teach the boys to fish ! Or more accurately I unknotted the fishing line, put the maggots on and took the fish off - if they caught any. May take it up again, you never know.
  2. My birthday party on our old boat Lucy Carmichael - any guesses where this was taken?
  3. I caught a fish, much to my big brothers annoyance as he'd been quietly fishing all day and I just breezed along--- as youngsters do! and asked if I could " have a go" To stop me pestering he reluctantly allowed me to use his spare rod - in less than 5 mins I caught a small Roach and to make him even more cheerful my mother forced him to take a picture!
  4. Found this old picture to prove I loved boats even from a young age. Dad and I cruising The Ouse in an old wooden converted lifeboat - no idea what make she was! Love his beanie hat.
  5. And it only took us 10 years
  6. Well said Charlie, sometimes it's the old adage "all fur coat and no knickers" more germs are spread by dirty hands than anything else! Even worse ... those that wear gloves and think that negates the need to wash .. sorry, work hat on.
  7. Very interesting, didn't know they could get that many boats moored at Oulton Broad, very colourful. Thankyou
  8. More importantly.....do they wash their hands and have the proper facilities to do so? None of the above will matter if they fail to do this simple task!
  9. Scarey how quickly you can loose all control in a fast tide! well done to all the rescue teams that got them safely moored. Hope all aboard ok
  10. Glad I don't have to find our boat amongst this! One of the devastating results of hurricane Irma.
  11. Damn ! I'm intrigued now! I want to know what you would have said?
  12. What authority would they have if an incident occurred? Do they have first responder training? I was a little concerned that they were searching for a boat that had a passenger on board with chest pains!! Whilst their local knowledge may be invaluable, in an emergency I am unsure as to what assistance they can provide?

  14. They looked like they'd keep you warm on a chilly evening
  15. No, ... full thermals , don't think they do a baby doll version yet
  16. Happy birthday Inge , I hope you've warmed up now, if not, a few drinks may do the trick
  17. Couldn't resist! It's a knitted onsie( I think! ) with built in hood and snood
  18. Hi Charlie just a thought, is Inge warm yet?
  19. You're more than welcome Alan, sorry you couldn't make it! I hope they give a little flavour of the event - even though they are only iPhone photos
