Hi Nitro mores is the industry product not sure on fibre glass but if you want to remove sign writing from vehicle cellulose finishes Oven off will do this without damaging the vehicle paint finish, or last resort elbow grease works well and is safe. John

No of course you didnt.

I hear that this new HGV driving test no longer includes reversing which talking to drivers and ex drivers is laughable.
Might now be a good time to start a business repairing cabs and trailers?

Hi wise ones, I have a friend down south who is having a hard time removing stubborn deck paint on a grp deck, now I am not sure what he has tried (and he has done it before) so welcome any suggestions what so ever.
Thanks in advance.

Slightly off track.
On a canal boat it is best not to place it up front in a corner but futher back in the room for a more equal spread of the heat. it must be placed on an approved fireproof surface such as certain tiles surrounded by something to stop half burnt logs rolling out and along the floor when the door is opened. So you need around a three and a half foot square area.
The walls around the stove must be covered in fireproof material (Tiles) up to the height of the stove, so say around 4ft high and the flue must be double lined (A tube within an outer tube). Not really A diy job anymore and it must be signed off as safe.

thank you! i am again considering a solid fuel burner as it would be the simplest option, just having trouble working out where to put one on a mark 3 and also have heard some scary things about fire on grp
boats…
Join the owners club for ideas and not all moorings allow solid fuel burners to be used so consider that, do you have moorings sorted.

if not solid fuel is the best option, John
Didnt the OP say No to the wood burner in the opening post.
Ventilation is key as are the water/dampness absobing cyrstals. There is a main service agent in Norwich for Webasto & Eberspacher but as said they are expensive for service or repairs.
There are cheaper options out there which would suit a Hampton Safari.

The Wallas Spartan heaters have a strong reputation within marine enviroments and a price tag to match, not that I know anybody with one.
Good luck with your new boat and welcome to the forum.

it would be on a sliding system so the hob burner would need to be on a flexible pipe as it will slide out from under a bulkhead.
Thanks in advance
TomFear you will need a Plan B for the gas hob.

I know of one poor couple who live four hours away who waited around for days on their boat for a company to visit when they could of been out on the waters instead. As far as I know the company still havent attended despite promises.
I`m sorry Max and mods but I feel that we should be able to say who these companies are as a warning to others.

Brundall seems to be full of dead zones according to the local website where people living in the same street on the same network get mixed results including no signal so my conclusion is that the hardware plays a big part.
Smartly have just released a no contact SIM with unlimited data but I haven't looked at the small print yet.

O2 is ok on the river front at Brundall but non existent in the marina. EE is rubbish anywhere in Brundall.
I am still hoping to find a decent signal from a supplier for the Brundall riverside area.
Agree about O2 and EE, try Smarty or 3

Some say O2 is rubbish in Brundall whilst others disagree and that is those living in houses at the top of the hill!
3 sell a 24gb sim for £45 which works well and fast for the laptop and Smarty (part of 3 network) have just launched a cheaper deal for existing customers.

and to NBN Leon,
Where is your home moorings (it can make a difference) and which network(s) are you currently using.

All I can say (and stay within the forum rules) is to ask about a completion date as well as the price when having any canopy or stainless steel rails made as some people seem unable to deliver within a reasonable time frame.

Admin costs?

Lack of passing trade now, there are fewer yards along Riverside now so less trade. There is a coffee/tea place there that is hardly used except by those that are waiting for the handover to start their holiday.

If you can do this at home then you can do it on a boat, it just takes a little longer.

Would rather Norwich didnt take the Boom or Bust route that a few others have in the past and come unstuck.

Perhaps they should of held the race today. It has been done before.

Doesn't it depend when you got your license? I think that if you were entitled to drive them then you still are, but if you got your license after the rules changed then you need an extra entitlement.
That is correct.

Was reading an article today which said that there is a shortage of HGV1 drivers across europe, so where did they all go or where many unlicenced and working here in the UK?
