No use to those of you in God's own County I know but just so as to prove that  good, honest,  reliable plumbers really do exist,   we, here in Cambridgeshire,   have a wonderful plumber who charges us the same for parts as he pays himself, always comes promptly when needed and keeps his labour charges to a minimum. He also goes the extra mile too when  last year our  gas fire refused to ignite he found it  needed a new part that was no longer available( the fire is 15 years old) he went to enormous trouble to  track one down, doling so within a week and coming to fit it with a tiny bill to follow. He's worth his weight in gold..

Must be the coffee & bacon rolls that you give him everytime lol. I`m good, prompt and reliable to customers however I do add a % mark up on parts if I supply them, this is because any part supplied by me comes with my guarantee and the quality being what it is nowadays I have to factor in return visits and you can`t expect the customer to pay twice can you?

Wasn`t the dashboard that was a Renault 5, gearshift was a 4ft long stick coming out of the floor near the bulkhead?

'My' plumber is out of sorts lately So I may be needing someone that I can recommend to my clients but he MUST be reliable.  Is he local to Donny?

    Griff

That`s funny because jon has been off work for a few weeks after putting his back out, your man isn`t called jon by any chance?

I`ll have to ask exactly where he lives tbh.

  9. The prv is the safety valve so water passing through it tells you you have a problem and did you recharge the pressure vessel when the system was cold?

If you continue to have problems I know of a plumber who lists his location as "Gods own county" :default_icon_e_biggrin:

  10. Agree Williams are a sorry state at the moment but with the recent departure of Paddy Lowe there are now no technical directors within the team where there should be three of them which says a lot.

Go to the BBC sport web page and look at what an areo design guy has to say, if he is right then Ferrari are going to struggle this year. I for one would like 2019 to be the one where Bottas is repaid for help Lewis so much last year as I fear he will be looking for a new drive next year.

  11. A combi does away with tanks in lofts. Spend a little time on St. Google researching your Baxi tonight as it may save you time tomorrow. Downside of pressurised systems is that only trained people are allowed to work on them and sorry but that is the law.

    Thanks you lot.

Our Baxi combi Boiler is progressively going on the blink

That's you lot tempting fate is that

It went t1ts up over the Christmas period, fault code said low gas pressure - No it wasn't.  After some research it was one of two sensors, I removed them both cleaned them up and all has been fine since - Till recently.  I now find myself having to pop up our loft every morning and once again early evening to bring the falling pressure back up.  Either the expansion tank has failed or it's a non-return valve playing up.  I suspect it's the expansion tank.  I will fault find this coming Saturday then get the relevant part ordered.

I could do without this I can tell you

    Griff

Check the prv isn`t letting bye, if it`s been activated recently sometimes they don`t reseat properly. Plastic bag tied over the pipe will show up a leak.
