  1. I take no responsibility for the following as Mrs Nog was so amused by this thread she insists on putting in her 2p. Tin hat on
  2. Ha ha! You could be right there Iain Apologies for some misinformation earlier, the steel boat has just moved around the corner to Pyes Mill.
  3. Trawlerboys currently on at New Inn Rockland, Swan Loddon, Wherry Oulton. It was not on at WRC last week but I think it does appear occasionally. Superb beer, Carol has excellent taste
  4. Belated welcome from me too. Mrs Nog has been laughing her socks off reading this thread
  5. Yes, I can't see the Berney being used for religious purposes due to the access restrictions referred to above. Even the trains only stop during the hours of daylight.
  6. Naw, your humour is much more entertaining and definitely not predictable!
  7. Grrrrrrrrr.....I hate predictive text
  8. What a difference day makes! Alan's friends have departed so maybe the Lock has been fixed. Hope so. The moorings are rammed, we even had a massive Herbert Woods boat trying to squeeze in in front of us, we have a small gap at the side of us where the safety ladder is.
  9. I agree Clive. Had one in the Red Lion in Cromer the other day. They served it to me with a slice of orange in it, I kid you not. :-0
  10. Peter is right, I understand Green Jack have divorced with the brewery and Triangle going one way and the Locks and the Stanford Arms the other. Hence both the latter have gone free although still owned by the divorced half of Gj We pooped in the Locks last week and some good Grain beers were on but I must say I've always enjoyed the Gj ales too. They have a new one called Waxwing which I find very enjoyable.
  11. Hi Alan To be honest we didn't but thought it was an impressive craft. We are moored right at the other end of the Staithe but will have a closer look when Mrs Nog can drag me out of the Swan. Hope they can get the Locks fixed soon.
  12. It is a permissive right of way, courtesy I believe of 2 separate landowners. Thisonly applies to the pub landlords and probably the mill too. Think hire yards also have permission for emergencies. I guess John Cressey certainly has. But there is no right of way for the general public. It's quite a way to the main road too.
  13. Ha ha, you might well be right there Grace
  14. Best suggestion I've heard all week Iain
  15. Look at this in the Loddon Swan Little Sharpie, Trawlerboys and the ubiquitous Adnams. Little Sharpie is an incredible £2.60 per pint Might have to drop anchor here for a while. And it's Mrs Nog's round :-)
  16. Peaceful in Loddon too Ducks busy eating Mrs Nog's corn
  17. Bit choppy in Reedham today. Had 'help' from a fellow boater who promptly grabbed a line and banged us into the quay. I wish people would ask before 'helping'. Me and Mrs Nog have been doing this for year or two now and have just about got the hang of it by now. Grrrrrrrrr....Sorry rant over
  18. Sparse indeed, no real ale.
  19. Certainly does Iain. Also once had the lease of the Surlingham Ferry.
  20. Thanks Alan and will do! I tend to go for the beer rather than the grub. I think the DH has had various reviews about the grub but I've always found the beer to be good. They usually have a good guest on from the likes of St Peters and Green Jack
  21. Aw, got to hand the boat back on Friday morning Alan :-( Let you know when we're down again tho as we like the Dukes Head and usually pop in if we can.
  22. It's lovely and quiet down South Just us and one other boat on the moorings at Somerleyton Very nice drop of St Peters in the Dukes Head
  23. Looked in at the Berney on the way past.Looking a bit sad and still up for sale. I had been told on good authority that it had been sold but must have fallen through. Shame to see the old place closed. Spent some good times in there.
  24. White Horse is lovely pub too Most successful community pub in the country apparently. Well worth a visit IMHO
