Heading back to the boat tomorrow afternoon. The plan is a bit of shopping in Beccles friday morning, then cruise up to St Olaves for the evening, ready to cross Breydon Saturday morning. Meet up with friends at Acle Bridge on two other boats for an evening there, then escorting one of them back across Breydon to Brundall if his engine holds out or towing him. He is leaving his boat at Peachments then for a new engine fitting. Breydon could be fun looking at the weather.. Photo's to follow of the trip again if anyone's interested.

I wouldn't rely on the taper only holding it, especially when there's sudden forward/ reverse loads involved. Looking at that, any good engineering shop should be able to rebuild that and fit a new key.

Not sure if this is the right place for it, but after passing the bridge twice this week it's not operational due to a technical fault. Can't find any news about it on the BA web site so just a heads up ( no pun intended) if anyone needs an opening.

I'll upload some more photos of Elaines once we are home and can sort them out. Sadly it's time to pack up to go home tomorrow.

From leaving Womack we cruised to Stokesby to make breakfast, sent Elaine looking for the shop but found it shut as is the pub, so no treat with a coffee later. Had a great cruise down through Yarmouth and Breydon down througt St Olaves arriving in Beccles in the dark at 17.30.

Totally different day from yesterday, frosty and clear sky. Left horning at 9am for a steady cruise, now moored at How Hill just had a very nice brunch Elaine made. Bacon egg mushrooms beans and fried bread, a few photos of this morning.
