I think if I remember correctly, last winter was going to be the coldest for 100 years, according to the Express. Turned out to be one of the warmest. Just like their BBQ summer some years back, wet and cold! I notice most of these predictions come from obscure weather forecasting setups.

Not really having a go at displays, more at the miscellaneous letting them off in the weeks preceding and following the 5th. If you are aware of local displays you can at least keep a nervous pooch in, shut the curtains and put on a Lassie film at full volume. Or buy a thunder coat, they are supposed to be very effective with a lot of dogs.

Hope there aren't any, a lot of us animals have to suffer because you like to see mega money go up in smoke.

The matter has yet to be fully decided, however I will state here and now, if that increase comes in, then I'm taking a rest from the Broads for a year. The boat will be lifted for a year and the BA can spin for my toll.
Oh Dear, does this mean the banks may be covered in boats as well as rubbish!

Just clocked this thread. Going back to Salhouse Broad, back in the 60's and 70's th ere used to be an old boy and his black labrador in a large outboard dinghy collecting fees from weighted boats, legitimately.

It is quite dusty in places, but they are getting on with it.. The whole thing will be open in around a year, after all.
Try living near it, a year is a long long time.

According to the TV last night tarmac. Is now being laid on at least one bit of the ndr
Well I wish they would lay it at Rackheath, on Saturday the wind was lifting the bare soil into a brown mist and covering the area. That on top of the constant rumble of earth moving equipment well into the evening.

The only place you need to worry about encroaching foliage, is on the roads!

I've had this avatar since I joined in 2007, unfortunately I no longer have access to the original. Without it I must sadly withdraw.

Where has my avatar gone?

Whilst supporting the lifeboat, in this case they would have done what they did before, hijacked the nearest available boat to get a lift to the casualty. Then driven the boat back themselves, it's not hard, the tourists do it.... probably quicker than waiting for the lifeboat to be trailed round from Hemsby.
I personally have helped the police with their enquires, when they turned up a Horning sailing club and needed a lift down the river..
I'm sorry but this post implies that 'they' are the lifeboat crew, not the ambulance/paramedics

Looks more like their lifeboat Broads Marley.

Doesn't look like the 'nearest available boat to me.

Probably from Birds Eye fish fingers

As this is an NDR thread, you may be interested to know that the Plumstead road is closed between Reeves corner and Thorpe End 'til the 20th of June for piling for the new bridge. I believe it may be open Saturday and Sunday, 11th_12th.

There is one beside Eastwood Whelptons yard at Upton, not sure if is controlled by them. A very pleasant spot with lovely views over there fields, and riverside walks. Plus five or six minutes walk to the White Horse.

Funny you should mention that pub Peter, Sid Fillery was after that, until the powers that be were shown the results of a Google search.
