  1. And why not. Not too much to ask for peace and quiet and it should be made mandatory.
  2. MBA marine. Perhaps if you did have a boat on the water and the boat next to you in the marina was discharging its 'bits and bobs' directly into the adjacent water you may have a different take on it all. Monica
  3. We used to moor a few years back near a bling sea going boat and he used to always discharge his loo into the river and into the marina where it was kept. I was horrified when I found out. Like others I thought it was against the rules and regs to do such a thing. The other morning I saw a good bucket full being chucked overboard from a small boat. I reiterate what the previous poster said - if you fall in dont open your mouth. Uggh!!
  4. I have assumed that OP is for older person (correct me if I am wrong please). Well I am not only older (one luxury all of you have to look forward to ) and also hail from Theydon Bois in Essex where I was born. Now in the scheme of things where does that place me. I like others tend to moor in the informal moorings and find peace and tranquility 9 times out of 10. I dont think it is correct to generalise as we have seen here on the previous posts. You can be a pain in the neck to other people from the cradle to the grave if you are that way inclined. As I have said before 99% of people on the Broads are respectful and considerate. Getting back to the original post, I do think that this member should just give it one more go and see that it is not as they found it. M
  5. Yes it is not only the youngster by any means. At below Irsted (right hand bend) we got a lovely mooring, wonderful, peaceful and another boat Symphony moored opposite, we thought oh this will be ideal - Wrong!!! All of a sudden a floating bathtub which takes 10 moored along side and then another boat moored into the trees. Obviously one big family, nowt wrong with that at all but the language was disgusting and it was in front of their small children. That was it me and my hubby upped and moved. Why are people so god dam awful these days.
  6. I think I know the folk concerned who you are talking about. Might be barking up the wrong tree but there was two Herbie Woods boats quite large but not quite bling types with lads on board. I saw them several times bombing and that is the only description to use around the water ways. Total disregard for anyone else. Poor chap behind us , his boat nearly ended up on the quay side with the effect they were having on the river. Please come back , believe me this is not the normal behaviour of 99% of Broads users. This is just mindless people who perhaps dont even realise the upset they cause.
  7. I can honestly say it does work. We have one in the back garden - it covers a large area - and one in the front. The one in the front garden is running off of a battery whilst the back garden version is running off of the mains. Does not affect dogs or hedgehogs or the birds, feathered variety. As I say not cheap but it does the trick. Having watched my husband weeding out in the garden and being greeted by you know what it was a no brainer, we had to get Catwatch.
  8. We have something called Catwatch by Concenpt Research 01763 254300. As we have had our a good 15 years in those days when we bought ours they did not have a web site or an email address but I am sure they do now. Excellent, not cheap but it works. Monica
  9. Feel like shouting this from the roof top. Labels have arrived absolutely perfect. Lorraine is a diamond. Prompt and delivered exactly what we wanted. Never thought we would ever get what we required.
  10. What is wrong with putting in posts dotted around the complete corner. That would be money well spent and stop wasting money by removing piling and losing our wonderful moorings.
  11. Stunning , is the first photo of Salhouse? M

    Nutters

Well they may think they are having a wonderful time but oh dear I bet their dear old Mums would be having kittens if they saw that. Just hope for Mum's sake they all got back in one piece. M
  13. Just had an email back from Lorraine and she is going to sort us out regarding the labels we require. Just got to measure up and let have a list and she will let me know how much etc. I am really pleased that at last the dash can be completed and the switches look good with the bespoke labels. Thank you for suggestion Lorraine.
  14. Am I reading right here , you are saying that our precious F1 is now going to Sky Sports along with all our beloved national sports that occur? Like you I feel very cheated and it is only those with money to waste can afford to watch.
  15. Here here - surely there is something else we can all discuss. I think this subject is past its sell by date.
  16. Yes we definitely have less channels, some of the channels are such tripe anyway and the good ones they managed to let disappear. UKTVgold used to be on Freeview and one that gave you Escape to the country etc that went but no we have to have Dave (!) and some I wouldnt mention on here. We must have picked up at least 8 Adult channels, but no Sky News which was good. Can pick up Sky News on one TV but it breaking up the whole time. Cannot imagine what will happen after the next two lots of re-tunes that we have to do. I was hoping that it was all going to improve big time.
  17. If this is in the wrong place can it be moved please. Did as we were told in the NR34 area and duly retuned the Freeview yesterday and now we have no Sky News. Is this progress? Anyone else had any bother. What will happen when we have two more retune in November I dread to think.
  18. I guess we will have to contact the landlady at the The Dog Inn at Ludham Bridge for an idea of the business name. Be good if she can print labels a few at a time.
  19. Any chance of the ladies business name please, she sound as if she will be the answer to our problems.
  20. Hate crime!!! For goodness sake this is getting out of hand. My grandfather died in the First World War at the age of 19 to be give us freedom of speech which Dictators and the like took away from people. We have to be so careful if drawing the line between a spoken comment in the heat of the moment, which probably came out all wrong and a crime. Certainly dont want to be like China where precious freedoms are not allowed at all. I dont know this member at all but I would hardly think that he meant harm and would be first to admit it. Calm down dear comes to mind. Look forward to normal posts in the future please.
  21. Could see this coming as and I can sympathise with Neil. Perhaps calling people names without thinking of the hurt that it causes be it from one section or another is not the way to go. May be in future if a mod thinks that someone has stepped out of line in his or her opinion, not necessarily everyones , how can it be, a private message to the person may be the way to go. We all make mistakes in life. No one is perfect. M
  22. I think the world is watching to see how things are handled at the moment. There is a lot at stake here, a lot of peoples livelihoods rest on the good reputation that our country has. Let us hope that things die down now and people can get on with lives as before. The sentences in the past were in some circumstances far too lenient and matters have now come to a head and at least people are being punished for what they have done. Just hope that this is the last of this nonsense. My heart goes out to those folk who have lost their homes through all this , it really does. Those of us that are not affected should count our blessings.
  23. Thats a good idea. Never thought of that.
  24. On this subject has anyone any suggestions for labels. We have a brand new instrument switching panel and it has spaces besides the switches for you to put a label for whatever use you have for that particular switch. Now you get a huge sheet with loads of names i.e. inverter , etc but most of which bear no resemblance to what we use) but wondered if anyone (clutching at straws here) know of a machine , not a dynamo tape, got one of those things that prints red tape, and looks awful, where you can print your own little sticky labels. The ones we have are black with white print on. They are about 1" long and 1/4 " down.
