    Nutters

Well they may think they are having a wonderful time but oh dear I bet their dear old Mums would be having kittens if they saw that. Just hope for Mum's sake they all got back in one piece. M
  2. Just had an email back from Lorraine and she is going to sort us out regarding the labels we require. Just got to measure up and let have a list and she will let me know how much etc. I am really pleased that at last the dash can be completed and the switches look good with the bespoke labels. Thank you for suggestion Lorraine.
  3. Am I reading right here , you are saying that our precious F1 is now going to Sky Sports along with all our beloved national sports that occur? Like you I feel very cheated and it is only those with money to waste can afford to watch.
  4. Here here - surely there is something else we can all discuss. I think this subject is past its sell by date.
  5. Yes we definitely have less channels, some of the channels are such tripe anyway and the good ones they managed to let disappear. UKTVgold used to be on Freeview and one that gave you Escape to the country etc that went but no we have to have Dave (!) and some I wouldnt mention on here. We must have picked up at least 8 Adult channels, but no Sky News which was good. Can pick up Sky News on one TV but it breaking up the whole time. Cannot imagine what will happen after the next two lots of re-tunes that we have to do. I was hoping that it was all going to improve big time.
  6. If this is in the wrong place can it be moved please. Did as we were told in the NR34 area and duly retuned the Freeview yesterday and now we have no Sky News. Is this progress? Anyone else had any bother. What will happen when we have two more retune in November I dread to think.
  7. I guess we will have to contact the landlady at the The Dog Inn at Ludham Bridge for an idea of the business name. Be good if she can print labels a few at a time.
  8. Any chance of the ladies business name please, she sound as if she will be the answer to our problems.
  9. Hate crime!!! For goodness sake this is getting out of hand. My grandfather died in the First World War at the age of 19 to be give us freedom of speech which Dictators and the like took away from people. We have to be so careful if drawing the line between a spoken comment in the heat of the moment, which probably came out all wrong and a crime. Certainly dont want to be like China where precious freedoms are not allowed at all. I dont know this member at all but I would hardly think that he meant harm and would be first to admit it. Calm down dear comes to mind. Look forward to normal posts in the future please.
  10. Could see this coming as and I can sympathise with Neil. Perhaps calling people names without thinking of the hurt that it causes be it from one section or another is not the way to go. May be in future if a mod thinks that someone has stepped out of line in his or her opinion, not necessarily everyones , how can it be, a private message to the person may be the way to go. We all make mistakes in life. No one is perfect. M
  11. I think the world is watching to see how things are handled at the moment. There is a lot at stake here, a lot of peoples livelihoods rest on the good reputation that our country has. Let us hope that things die down now and people can get on with lives as before. The sentences in the past were in some circumstances far too lenient and matters have now come to a head and at least people are being punished for what they have done. Just hope that this is the last of this nonsense. My heart goes out to those folk who have lost their homes through all this , it really does. Those of us that are not affected should count our blessings.
  12. Thats a good idea. Never thought of that.
  13. On this subject has anyone any suggestions for labels. We have a brand new instrument switching panel and it has spaces besides the switches for you to put a label for whatever use you have for that particular switch. Now you get a huge sheet with loads of names i.e. inverter , etc but most of which bear no resemblance to what we use) but wondered if anyone (clutching at straws here) know of a machine , not a dynamo tape, got one of those things that prints red tape, and looks awful, where you can print your own little sticky labels. The ones we have are black with white print on. They are about 1" long and 1/4 " down.
  14. i have for some time thought that the UK was going down the toilet - well now someone has flushed it. Think there will be mass emmigration from now on. Last one please turn the light out.
  15. I should think that there will be very few that would disagree with you at this time.
  16. One more reason not to fall in the river and if you do, dont open your mouth - ughh!!

    FOOD SHOPPING

Lathams or QD as it is now, has expanded its food hall and it is now really large. There is not a great deal that you cannot pick up. I was quite surprised.
  18. People do not realise that boating on the broads is not akin to taking a boat on the lake. There are tides to consider and in bad weather windy weather can make it a whole new ball game. As a Mum I would have kittens about letting a youngster with a young child go off on a hire boat. It is bad enough when there are two adults on board.
  19. I think the expression - discretion - is the key here. A female family member had a bright idea that she could hire and go tootling off on her own with her young son. I do hope and trust that for a complete novice as that is what she would be, not a clue is another expression, boatyards would not let the hire go ahead.
  20. Yes that is true, I am fogetting not all boats are as stable as ours. Thinking about it would be far worse for them. Just think people well just dont think.
  21. I should hardly think that someone 'moving about on board' is comparable to that boat hairing up the river at that speed, which at the end of the day is breaking the law. I am talking about being rocked about in such a manner that is harsh and unexpected.
  22. What harm is there is showing the photos. People should be aware of the wake they are creating. Consideration for other users of the rivers - wait until somebody is scalded by boiling liquid. That bling boat which is a hired boat is beyond a joke. Whatever was the rush - somebody having a heart attack?
  23. Going to stick my neck out here. Dont you think in the light of the fact that everyone new the wind was going to make the race hairy to say the least , could it not have been postponed to another day when conditions would have been so much better. Surely it is very unfair to criticise everyone as not being a 'saily' I would have thought controlling the boat in that wind was nigh on impossible for some people, hence all the problems. Do think though if the guilty ones that did have the misfortune to damage other boats should hold their hands up and not just be under the impression that they are beyond the law. There you have it - my 10p worth.
  24. Totally agree and how yards that do that would gain so much respect from the wider public both hirers and privateers. Why does it have to take a disaster to prompt the correct action. Just wonder which yards would put their heads up and show responsibility for the louts.
  25. Sorry obviously got wrong end of stick and more than relieved to have done so. It must be extremely frightening to the person being passed.
