  1. i made it myself, but he supplied everything even lent me some tools i didn't have
  2. well i tried most things and ended up jet washing it. as it's only 18months old it handled it fine. but it still hasn't got the embedded dirt out, it got the top green etc but spoke to Richard at snuggtopz and he suggested a cup full of bleach in a warm bucket so will try that tomorrow once it's dried off
  3. lol yes let me know if you still have a canopy or not
  4. thanks for the replys i'll get it off once the sun comes out maybe the weekend or next week and give it a go can i use a scrubbing brush with the washing up liquid or will that be too harsh?
  5. hi got a beige canvas on my boat (bad move) i made it from scratch and within the year it had started to go mouldy and as i didn't even look at the boat last year i can only imagine how bad it is now. yes it is proper boat material bought from a good quality boat supplier who is local what is the best way to clean the mould, dirt, bird poo, tree sap etc off the canvas? and what is the best waterproofer or protector to use to try and keep her cleaner in future please
  6. Okies as i haven't done anything on my Vanguard Thunderjet last year due to time/money. This year i really want to get the inside seating and area sorted so we can actually sleep on her. It is very similar to a shetland 2+2 inside so does anyone know the seating plan please? obviously the seating converts into a bed, i have the table (although it's 1 i made up myself) no foam etc as yet as i need to know sizes preferbly i'm scoring fleaby at the minute to try and get as many images as i can but they aren't very helpful
  7. the reflection of the word reflection is in reverse
  8. No i did the reflection slightly italic and kinda messed it up a bit, then put the non-slip tape over it to make it look like a reflection
  9. Canopy is finished, outboard is on, all polished and near enough done just waiting for a clip for the outboard remotes which won't get here til monday Looking good if i say so myself whatya think of the way i did the name?????? Kool hey
  10. Steering...... Does anyone know how a remote steering rod fits onto an outboard pls? I have bought a yamaha 15hp 4 stroke which looks like it has a 4mm hole and my steering cable has a 8mm rod at the end with about 10mm of thread
  11. On a lighter note i did make myself some mugs to go on the boat what do you think??????
  12. Well i'm starting to make the canopy all i can say is..... who's bright idea was it for me to make it?????????????? Never again if i can help it and in hindsight i wish i'd of gone for a blue one as the beige gets dirty reallyyyyy quickly and they don't do beige thread so having to use white so you can see ever stitch i have put in which isn't good when you struggle to sew a straight line due to the thickness and amount of canvas you're working with lol But i'm sure it'll look nice once it's done - well i hope so anyways Also the windows were a nightmare to get back in 3 of us tried with 3 attempts in total and gave up. so i called Total Windscreens from Norwich a young lad named Paul and he sorted it quickly and was really friendly and professional. so if you need any windows doing he's your man as likes doing boats lol http://www.t-windscreen-s.co.uk/
  13. Getting there slowly......... Sorted the canopy frame out hopefully, i had a brainwave yesterday and thought tent/awning poles..... so shot off to norwich camping and hey presto managed to get some fitting that have hopefully done the job, fitted them today and all seems well so far. as you can see i have a seat in and the doors are back on all stained/varnished so it can be locked up again. batteries are all in and i'm half way through doing the wiring ( i ran out of wire, new lot came today) Speakers are cut into the front of them boxes just under the seat along with the aux battery cut off. and just under the seat is a the fuse station with a flap down panel for easy access. windows are in but still got to fit the filler bit...... i did have a quick look today but gave up as it didn't want to go in. mast and grab rail is on, still waiting for the other 1 to be repaired as i broke it taking it off. seating material will be coming soon along with foam, to match the light grey of the seat already installed. canopy i'm prob going to get material from snugtopz in norwich as i can go pick it up and have a look and they are slightly cheaper than hawke and will do me 11mtrs for the price of 10 so even cheaper. so i am getting there slowly, but steadily. can't wait to get it sorted and in the water. I am trying to contact MR Tubby at oulton to see how much his moorings are but struggling to find contact details, so will give OB station a ring tomorrow
  14. anyone recommend a reasonable insurance company pls
  15. kool he's sorted me out an Evinrude 4 stroke, electric start with controls fully fitted and guaranteed for 750 so thats a good bargain just got to wait 2 weeks until he's free to fit it lol
  16. well annoyingly i got let down by the chap selling the outboard so it's back to hunting for another one. That outboard chap Steve has said he should have some in his workshop and will let me know by Monday hopefully. he does come highly recommended so i'm hoping he does have something as it'll be a good one and it's guaranteed also On another note i thought i'd get a handheld vhf radio for the boat rather than a fixed one. Mainly due to price as it was a lot cheaper than a fixed unit. I'm yet to test it but have spoken with a few ppl on a radio forum and it appears they aren't very good for sending so annoyed again that i may have wasted a bit more money buying that...... Trouble is how do you test them lol
  17. There's an outboard chap called steve who has been recommended to me. Nice chap but very busy He's said it'll need a conversion kit and it's a 94
  18. Okies it's a Johnson Commercial 10Hp Model is SJ10RPP serial 037264BB I think as the numbers are a bit faded Does anyone know what year or whether it can be converted at all?
  19. looks like i have found an outboard Johnson 10hp 4 stroke Bloke has had it for 3 yrs and bought it from new and only used it a couple of times as it was too powerful. even still has the manual etc for it i think it's a short shaft at present but he actually got a long shaft conversion with it when he bought it just in case which is handy harry lol Now as it is tiller and my boat is remotes has anyone any idea how to convert it? I think 1 of my cables will need replacing as the inner doesn't come out past the outer cable if that makes sense but that won't be too expensive. i'm a happy chappy at the minute because this outboard is a real bargain from a genuine old timer at only £400 hehe
  20. thanks yes i was going to ask him for a few bits. my remotes seem to be missing a bit off one of the cables so maybe/hopefully he's got something knocking about. and maybe the canopy frame also he can come up with an idea
  21. i've got all the tube it's the fittings on the end i need mine are chrome tho not stianless
  22. Thanks Iain i'll give him a ring tomorrow. Also does anyone know about canopy frames? mines been made out of alluminimum and is about 1/2" thick 1 frame is fixed to the boat and the other frame is fixed onto that frame the fixings have broken off on frame 2 though popped into Jeckells but they couldn't help at all as they have nothing that small plus the bits they have are 1 bit pocking out and i need 2 l;ove to know who made the frame or whether it is standard as i can't really get on with the hood til i get the frame sorted
  23. 1st pic shows how bad it was everything stripped off the boat and gave her a major colour restore and a good polish today. popping into walker rubber in norwich friday to get new window rubbers still hunting for an outboard with no joy ideally i'd like a 4 stroke but everything i can find is 2 :/ away for the weekend so won't get much done but starting next week i'll give it another good polish and then start fitting things woo hoo
  24. yes i did see that resto project looks like he did a good job
  25. thats a very handy page lots of kool pics on there for me to look at pity there aren't many of the inside as thats where i'm struggling mainly Thanks
