  1. hiya i'm fitting my calorifier via my ebby it also has a 240v immersion element on it as usual has anyone tried to swap the 240v one for a 12v one like you get on the wind turbines etc just a thought that because i can't have it connected to my engine as its raw water cooled i thought maybe have it connected to a 12v supply that way i won't need shore power to heat the water if the diesel is running low thanks and await the responses
  2. that wiring isn't specific for this unit the red is live yellow is switch control brown is neg and blue/white is diagnostics if required thats all thats needed for this unit there can be a temp sensor connected if there isn't one on the unit but in my case there is i think i've managed to figure it out fairly well apart from there is no power output from the control box lol very strange really power going in is fine but none coming out
  3. i have one of the 7 day timers in the picture for my ebby unit but as per usual it never comes with instructions etc lol has anyone got any info on this unit please the numbers on the back are 22 1000 32 89 00 thanks
  4. i have been given a wiper motor ( barry) the connections are F S L any idea what goes where as far as i can gather its a 2 speed self parking one thanks steve
  5. nice pics and glad to hear you had a nice time but i bet you were glad to get back to the south hey
  6. the saga of my new outboard i won off ebay i won it fri eve and emailed the chap and said can i pick it up sunday mid afternoon as it'll take me 3 1/2 hours to get there he said yes he'd be out on his boat for the weekend but gave me his mobile number and said he'd be back mid afternoon so i emailed him again and asked for his address ----- no reply so i thought i'd just go out there and keep trying his mobile which was on answer machine we arrived at 3.30pm in stadhampton oxfordshire really lovely tiny village nice green so we sat and waited still the answer phone i said to the wife no worries he said he'd be back mid afternoon maybe he's not got a signal or the battery has gone flat etc come 4.30 still no answer luckily on his answer message it gave a number of his work partner so i rung him and had a chat nice bloke but obviously didn't want to give out any details but he did say he'd email him to let him know we were waiting come 6pm i'm getting annoyed by now knowing its 3 1/2 hours drive home still no joy so rung his mate again and got his home phone number off him we decide to go for a drive and have a look around oxford 8.30 the chap finally arrives home and answers his home phone oh he said my mobile is broke and i'd actually forgotten you were coming today so we picked the outboard up at 8.30 pm he put the petrol tank in the boot for me and off we set after 10 mins the wife says can you smell petrol? he'd only put the tank in upside down and left the vent screw open so petrol has dripped all over the boot floor carpet so thats now on the boat trying to air out after a good hosing down we home by midnight worn out shattered and needing sleep as we had to be up at 6.00 for work monday so i think monday right i'll put it on the dinghy and try it out and guess what it doesn't work properly it stalls and runs really rough so now is in for repair i'm hoping it isn't too much because it cost us £60 in petrol to pick it up so to win a cheap outboard on ebay and the cost of the fuel and now to have to have it repaired i don't think its gonna be that cheap but hey ho wayne at least when its done i'll have nearly 10hp of outboard
  7. i just ordered 2 valves and the tool to change them from norfolkmarine i wouldn't say they were cheap tho lol nearly £60 they also emailed me and said they are really hard to change and good luck lol nice hey as they are the main suppliers lol

  11. plugs what plugs lol the only plug is on the heater unit it self and thats an oval shape all the rest of the wires are loose no plugs at all lol
  12. ok i'm still trying to figure this out you ring ebby they say you have to speak to a local dealer you ring them, they haven't got the time for you unless you take the unit in so they can charge you loads of money trouble is the unit is out of a mercedes but the control unit and timer aren't i have wires and plugs on this that don't match up so if anyone knows how to wire it up can they help me pls main unit D5WZ out of a mercedes yellow brown blue blue/white red Control unit no 22 1000 31 71 08/09 black black/white red yellow brown brown black/white red/white (power i think as its thicker) timer 22 1000 32 89 00 grey purple yellow brown blue/white grey/black red brown/white these are the wires i have lol if anyone can figure them out i'll be forever in your debt
  13. i was just wondering what the ratings are on dinghy's my old one was a D rating but the new one is a C rating
  14. Thanks for the oil Lucky much appreciated oh and Barry if you read this before i speak to you i have a bottle for you as well and i hope you had a nice holiday ps. haven't got my postcard yet
  15. i know barry on osprey wouldn't say no too but he's in america on holiday so can't come on-line but if no-one else wants one i'll hold on to one for him if you don't mind thanks
  16. i wouldn't say no to a bottle please lucky
  17. you can see the tell tale hole and the water comes out just to the right of it via the moulding crack lol
  18. well i had a poke around underneath from what i think is the tell tale hole and ran it and the water doesn't even come out of there????????? it comes out of a casing join in the bottom of the outboard very near the hole tho lol so i'm now wondering if there's a rubber tube or something inside that has come off there are 2 bolts right beside there but i'm a bit dubious to undo them i'm one of these ppl who do things then think pig it why did i do that lol and i then have to get someone else to sort the mess i just caused so now if i'm unsure i ten to leave well alone i could really do with a manual on this thing if anyone has one they wouldn't mind scanning and emailing me pleaseeeeeeee
  19. no it didn't seem to be getting hot 1st time i've used it so not really sure funny cos the water that was coming out you could of had a shower it was warm enough
  20. just picked up this outboard off ebay for a really good price was working fine and still is but the tell tale water has slowed right down it was shooting out and then after an hour or so it now trickles out never had a water cooled before so don't actually know anything about them any ideas why its slowed down and has anyone got a manual on this outboard it was built between 77-87 i think thanks steve
  21. i should add i've looked at the instructions that were posted on here but it doesn't really help me unfortunately i have a D5WZ if that makes any sense
  22. thats brill thanks antares i'm actually in the process of fitting it now harder than i thought lol i have the clorifier in position and water in and out and the ends ready for the ebby to connect to i also have another 2 ends ready for connection to the engine at some point, not sure how to do this either now here's the problem i am having wiring how on earth do you wire these things up lol the ebby unit has an output plug on it the control unit doesn't neither does the timer the pump has a plug and the control unit does too but they don't match i really could do with some help on the wiring end if anyone has any idea on how these things are wrired up can you gimme a shout pls and by the looks of the bracketry that came with it and the bits coming off it, it looks like it should sit in mid-air cos i can't find a flat side to it anywhere that hasn't got something coming out or going in or dangling off it lol
  23. Thats brill ty antares not sure when your next hoping over to wrc i know you were intending on coming this past weekend if not perhaps we could arrange something but yes i'd really like it if i could many thanks steve
