  1. Hi, I have used international antifoul in the past and it looks like Norfolk Marine wants about £90 for 2.5 litres, this antifoul is at Toolstation has anyone used it as it is almost a third of the price http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Paintin ... 261/p37205 Ian
  2. If you want to stop the anodes going too fast just give them a coat of antifoul just like mine were when we got the boat....
  3. Hi, I am in the process of changing my anodes from zinc to magnesium as we are based at Ranworth. Just one question what type of bolt, Mild steel or stainless, is best for attatching the anode? Ian
  4. Hi, Good to hear the site is getting a new platform an all that it will bring. Looking at the mix of subjects all seem to have valid comments, and the topics do provide a clue to search for those posts you remember and want to find. As to the retired and new mods Ian
  5. Hi, I had a look at the link Perry posted, and noted on the 'The best bits from the London Boat Show' link only a few pictures were of boats. Interesting the chandlers were doing well, perhaps people are repairing or upgrading their existing boats rather than going for new. Ian
  6. Clive, The rear stainless frame has been replaced in the past, however the front frames are Aluminium and the port side of the frame has snapped. The break is at a previous repair where someone has pop riveted a short section of thin pipe. Also the pivots for the frame were bodged and the frame did not fully fold flat, so in the past it has been forced and bent the tubing, straightened, bent again and so on. There are also cracks in other places, so rather than re-shape the frame I think I will replace with new stainless. Ian
  7. Rear frame, The front frame will be more upright, and the frame moved inside the screen as the screen is being made to fold. Ian
  8. Thanks for the thoughts, I think a 6" curve on the frame will be about right. The set up now is,
  9. Hi, I am replacing a canopy frames on the boat, and intend to add a curve to the top of the rail to stop water forming a pool on top of the canopy. Any thoughts on the amount of curve required? Ian
  10. Hi, The video clip shows green boating at it's best, do you know of a better antifoul method? Ian
  11. Hi, The video reminded me of good times on a Wherry, and Perry (pks1702) at the helm. Ian
  12. Love the photographs they captured the day and we even had good weather. Ian
  13. Hi, Thanks for the thoughts on the way to go. I tried to post a photo of the rats nest I have at the moment but it did not load, so will try later. Ian
  14. Hi, A job for the winter is to renew the wiring on Sailor V. At the moment the boat has a combination of US and UK wiring colours that are confusing. What I intend to do is replace as much as I can with tinned cable, where I hit a problem is is there a standard for UK/European wiring colours? I know there is a US standard, but the colours of cable over here do not match very well. A second question is where is a good place for getting cable? Thanks Ian
  15. Hi, The ladder is still in the shed and not been claimed yet. Ian
  16. Hi, Spotted this squirrel on Barton going from one side of the broad to the other. Ian
  17. Hi, There is a good chance this is the ladder from Riverine due to where it was found. I believe the owner (Bill Maxted?) is hard to get hold of and has been unwell, therefore I am going to write to the yard but if someone did spot or can contact Bill please let him know about this post. Ian
  18. Hi, We have found this floating in the river and would like to find it's owner. If you have lost it PM me with when and where you lost it and we can try to get it back to you. Ian
  19. Hi, First the holiday in the States now this, you do know how to pick the weather. Any chance you can keep on holiday for the next month or so? Ian
  20. Hi, If you can find a suitable boat to get under Potter Heigham bridge you will find peace, wildlife and plenty of moorings. Ian
  21. Captain Perry, The Americans do know how to do the boating thing, and what an environment to do it in. You all must have had a superb time Ian
  22. Hi, Warm weather and cheap(ish) fuel and the howl of a V8 or two, what more do you want in life Ian
  23. Hi, Is there any evidence that floating rope is better to avoid the prop? Heavy rope will sink and might require a greater force to pull it towards the prop rather than something that is just floating on the surface close to the prop. Any thoughts? Ian
