  2. Very much so!! I got rid of my goatee about 8 years ago for that very reason, but there's a lot more grey these days!
  3. Many thanks indeed Perry. The team total has now broken the £600 mark, currently at £622!!! Fantastic!
  4. Hi Paul They are not difficult units to work on, so it depends on how handy you are with a screw driver as to whether you pay someone else to do it, or carry it out yourself. These two links may give you some information: http://www.boat-uk.com/2009/11/eberspacher-heater-airtronic-d4-not-working-smokey-exhaust/ http://www.letonkinoisvarnish.co.uk/Eberspacher_Intro_1.html
  5. Team Mo-Boaters decided to hold our Mo-Party at Broadview in Oulton Broad over the weekend. We had a great night, and the collection tin was well and truly rattled. We managed to raise another £65 towards our team total, taking us to £547!!!! Of course we all suffered with bad heads as raising money is hard work, but it was for a good cause!! If you haven't yet donated, please try to, no matter how small, as every £1 helps fight men's health issues. Please go to https://www.movember.com/uk/donate/payment/team_id/653985/ and donate by credit card or Paypal. Only a week to go and I can shave the damn thing off!! I am so looking forward to being able to sever my connection with The Village People!!!
  6. translates as "if not more expensive!"
  7. No idea Ian, but I thought the whole point was to protect the environment within them at all costs?
  8. Petition signed With all the squit about whether the Broads is a National Park or not, surely this is something which would be totally contradictory to the whole point of being one?
  9. Good to see the cultivation going well! Here's mine from a couple of days ago... Our team is now up to £326 raised
  10. The past couple of winters I have had a small GSM security camera on the boat. It has the added advantage that it sends me a text if the shore power fails. It was more important when we were in a marina where you had to feed cards into the meter, but certainly gave peace of mind.

  12. Nice to see someone using a proper puller rather than a pair of screwdrivers, Strowy! I bought one earlier this year but haven't had call to use it yet!
  13. I think I agree with Mark, and the hatch would need to be bigger than that. You need to be able to get two hands in in order to remove the pump cover screws and not drop the cover itself into the bilge. I'd not want to try to remove an impellor without more room either.
  14. Certainly will SJ. Winterised already? It's not even snowed yet!!! That means I'll have to avoid hitting your boat when I leave the marina... I was hoping to leave after you ! 15. I've just noticed my avatar seems to have gone back 4 years too!!!!
  16. I like the photos of the bridges to give people more idea of what they will be encountering. The Norwich bridges appear to be missing though, (i.e. Carrow, Millenium and Foundry).
  17. Speaking of cleaning up, the Events section had 4 posts as "stickies" at the top that are outdated now. Can these be "un-stickied"?

  19. Day 6 now and just about enough to make me look like a Village People reject.... So come on guys, this is for a good cause - we need your donations . 1 in 9 of us will at some time suffer from the diseases supported by these charities. The funds that Movember raise in the UK are invested in programmes that address the strategic priorities Movember has identified, related to both prostate and testicular cancer. The three areas of investment are Awareness & Education, Survivorship and Research. Globally, fighting prostate cancer continues to be one of Movember’s priorities. There are still many issues to be addressed, both pre and post diagnosis. One area of focus for Movember funded research programmes is working on rectifying the fact that there still isn't a test that accurately tells a man which type of prostate cancer he has, resulting in many men being over-diagnosed, unclear of the correct treatment to opt for and subsequent over treatment and ongoing side effects. Equally important to Movember are Survivorship programmes. Diagnosis is just the first step in a man's prostate cancer journey; survivorship is the next and these programmes can have a dramatic impact on the quality of life for men and their families and carers; quality survivorship programmes can mean the difference between men living a meaningful, quality life and just living. Here in the UK fighting testicular cancer is also a priority and last year we invested in world class research for testicular cancer with the Institute of Cancer Research, this research focuses on identifying genes that predispose men to testicular cancer.
  20. Any more for any more? This is a really good way to spend New Years Eve, and all are welcome, be it Hire boats, River Cruisers, Salty's and even sailies!!!
  21. Team Mo-Boaters is now 6 men strong as we welcome MikeO to the fold! We have raised £260 between us so far! Today we start clean shaven.....
  22. Many thanks to Mike (MikeO) for his generous donation to the team total, now standing at £210!!
  23. Well done you, though I'm not sure if I should congratulate or commiserate . Why not join our team "The Mo-Boaters"? All three of us are NBN members (one is even a mod!) so at least you'd have some moral support!
